I got a question for everyone. I have added the 4 high output t5's and my corals have responded very well. now when i get my canopy i was thinking of adding a halide but i dont want to much light do yall think with 4t5s and a 20k 175 watt halide i would have to much light for my softies/lps corals my other thought was to add just 2 no flourecents to get a little more blue or even two more t5s what do you guys think i shoul do?
thanks,
blue

Looks like enough light for softies, maybe just mount them in a DIY canopy. Maybe add another two or try different bulb combinations to get the color you want.

its defenetly enough light i just want more blue. i would try other combos but currently theres only two bulbs made in the 18" HO and thats a 10k and an actinic. I'm thinking two normal outputs put in to the mix will let me add more color and not so much light since i really don't need any more light or i could scrap to t5's and use a halide and two actinic t5's i dunno theres to many options LOL

get another actinic and swap it for one of the whites, or get one more fixture and run it all blue.

thanks fish freak i think thats what im going to do is get another fixture and run it all blue. I might just get Normal outputs though because i really dont think i need anymore light and if i put two more t5's in there i think i might fry my corals?
Thanks,
Blue

I'm with Kelli,.. since there are no prises or anything I don't think we need to worry about an extra gallon in your display

If it were me, I would go with a 175W MH and 2 T5 atinics,.. I say that because I love the glitter lines of MH.
I don't see any problem with your idea of adding a couple of atinics, or a couple of atinic "Blue" NO bulbs and think this is a great way to save a few bucks over going with MH, and it will do what your looking for quite well as well

hey, you think that second chamber in the back where they want you to put carbon would work as a fuge (or too much pod loss from the trip through the pump?)
