So, not even two weeks ago, when I was there picking up the Pokerstar from you, I heard you say that you didn't need a bigger skimmer because your little Coralife Super Skimmer or whatever was working just fine and blah blah blah... LOL. Yeah, that's right: BUSTED!!!
Post pics once it breaks in and starts showing you what a REAL skimmer can do on your tank.
-Joe
p.s. Just joking about the "real" skimmer thing. The coralife is a good skimmer for the money and I've seen some awesome tanks using them. I've also seen some pretty nasty-looking tanks using "top notch" skimmers...

I still like the Coralife, its a good skimmer especially since I upgraded to the Sedra 5000 pump. Just with adding the frag tank and upgrading to a 40 breeder for a sump I wanted something that would handle the water volume better.
And for the record it was a very spontaneous purchase even the wifey didn't know I got it at the time.

Not sure what I'm doing with it yet, kinda wanna hang onto it in case I do end up starting another tank, but I'll have to see.
Thinking I should start a thread called "Nick got a Bubble King" so we can stop hijacking Zach's. haha.

Well I offically had my first loss(s) in the 90 gallon... I was messing around in the tank the other day and 1 of my false percs was getting very close to my hand. So, knowing that I was going to put them in the 20 gallon within a week, I grabbed my net and easily caught one of them and placed it in the sump. The other one was quite a bit smarter and hid in the rocks. But me, being smarter than the fish lol, knew that it would sleep in my flower pot, so when he was sleeping, I snatched him up and threw him in the sump along with his buddy. Well, everything went good for 2 days and yesterday morning when I went to check on them, they had both been sucked up by my return pump. Sad, and I 100% blame myself for not thinking about it more before I had the "brilliant idea". I figured since the were near full grown, that they would have the swimming power to get away from it, but Im assuming that when the were sleeping (free floating) they drifted in...

sorry to hear...i use the sponge that came with the pump because i house new arrivals in my sump after QT to get used to the new water conditions. I hate using the sponge though because it collects junk and causes nitrate spikes. its a lose lose lol.
