Sorry, I just gave away a 3.5" yellow tang in exchange for 3 pieces of live rock!! I still have a sailfin tang. What are you willing to trade?

Thanks for the offer. The yellow would have been great. I got a kole today. Would have jumped on the sailfin though.

Hey Zach, a few mins ago I sent you a msg about researching what you buy before you buy it... Here's why you need to research stuff like that.
Read this and you'll understand why a Zebrasoma desjardinii (sailfin tang) Is not a good idea for you to get with your sized tank.

Nope, what you saw in my tank is a powder brown tang. A sailfin is a striped tang that gets quite large! =)

On your 55 gallon tank if you really want to be technical none of them are really "suited" for you tank size... Heck my yellow tang isn't suited for my 70 gallon as it's not long enough and they need the swimming room more than the swimming height. But, really if you want my opinion this would be the only tang I would get if you are on a budget as they cost about $20-$25 respectively. They stay under 8" typically. And they typically do quite well in captivity. A powder brown tang like mine would cost you $50 minimum (which is what I paid for mine).
To give you an idea.

That'll give you an idea on the sizes that the majority of the surgeonfish (tangs) will achieve in the wild... They do typically stay a bit smaller in captivity but, a person should not assume this to happen just because it has done so in the past for others.

Zach, doesn't really pay to ask if we have anything like that for sale. If someone does they'll just post it. For things like fish you are just better off buying them from the fish store. Typically if a person has a fish unless something major happens they don't just up and sell it off. Unless it gets too big lol.. then it happens a lot that people just up and sell them.
