Yeah I didn't photoshop any of mine. I want to be as close to perfect with the shot from the image sensor.
Although I didn't really have time I was worried about being drawn and quartered if I didn't post some pictures. lol.

Your not being drawn and quarted a thread like this is a great learning tool for all of us. And I find myself taking a lot of pic using the auto settings and not experimenting. And really not getting as good of quality if I would have taken the time to try the manual mode. So I am really appreciating this thread that you started. I even asked my daughter who is taking photo classes this year in school to pick her teachers brain.
thanks again for the thread.
Hey Matt maybe we need to have you give us a photo class at the next meeting. What you did to the pic looks great.

Nick,
I agree...it's best to get as close to possible with your image before processing. That being said, for those of us with cameras that don't have the good manual/processing adjustments on camera, PS does a good job of getting levels right once you know how. The key is to keep the colors true. Messing with the temp, saturation, or exposure has never worked for me, as it ends up with a picture that doesn't represent what the eye sees and is sometimes misleading. Your good lens gives a better than eye view though, as you can see the details we cannot get without great magnification.

Thanks guys. Kinda wishing we'd have posted this in the Photography forum now. Seems to be getting more attention then the threads there. Joe/Matt maybe give us an idea of what you did in PS for editing?
I'll be honest, getting to know this lens has significantly increased my understanding of WB, Aperture, ISO and Shutter Speed and how they all come together to make a gread image. Hopefully when I'm done with my build I'll have more time to really sit down and take a few hundred pictures.

PSE7 But most of the full blown edition is in elements too if you know where to look for it.
