AS far as skimmers go, I am going to have my buddy keep an eye out for skimmer returns from Fosters and Smith. What would you guys recommend?[/quote]

I like the ER's, but the ASM's are pretty similar. I'd get a new MSX xtrmeme...they are resonable as far as skimmers go...Around $300 new. I've never used the Aqua C's though Chris, Jason, and Brian all have used and liked them. If you can get one, the only FS skimmer I'd try is the RK2 foam fractionator...though I know nothing about it at all about it

I do like the meshwheels...they really do a nice job of making fine bubbles. The Gate valve mods on some skimmers also give you good control over the type of skimmate you produce. Get something with low wattage to save the power for your big return!

Hehe not yet, I pick it up Sunday. The 75 is actually not leaking where I drilled it. It is leaking at the base not really sure where, I can't see it, I just see salt creep coming up through the black plastic strip that goes around the bottom of the tank.

Lol I've had salt creep on my 75 and my 20 gallon in the basement since I set them up. the 75 I'm pretty sure is just from all of the water evap I'm getting down there (roughly stays 70+ % humidity at all times thus I'm just waiting to see rain one day when I come home) but, I have pondered about the 20 gallon eventually leaking out. I'll worry about that the day it happens though as the draw for that tank is the sump thus it would only drain AT VERY MOST 40 gallons *the 20 from the tank and roughly 20 from the sump if it ran continuous*

As for plumbing q's feel free anytime 608-633-1765. I'm sure I would have a few ideas for you. Things that have and haven't worked for me.

And yes I have just about nothing but good things to say about my aqua c 150. it's a good skimmer once you can get it dialed in and functioning properly. It took a few weeks of it running constant before it came into it's own. But, now the only cleaning maintance I really have to do on it is to clean the heavy froth that forms on the neck of the skimmer leading to the collection cup and dump the collection cup. I will also completely tear it down every other week just to make sure that to many snails don't decide to make it their permanant residence (I usually end up with a dozen to two dozen snails living in there every 2 weeks lol).

Like I said feel free to give me a call (not tonight though as Jen and I have a retirement party to attend in Alma Center).

Jas
