I do think they're a bit high, but then again I have not seen the fish. I know some of the larger red-sea tangs are harder to find, and a large healthy specimen could be that much retail. Dave...I did think of you/your tank when I saw this...I think there are only a few tanks big enough to house 5-7" tangs around here. I don't think I'd try to put all eight of them in your tank though. You might need to plum into Jason or Joshs monster skimmers if that is the case.

If you wanted to try all those tangs in one place I might concider loaning you my skimmer just to keep the peace as far as conditions go... Now, the attitudes of the fish that's your problem lol.
Jason
btw pricing is fair on some of the fish.. because a 5" R.S. Purple Tang is nearly impossible to find. That's a good sized established specimen.

I just looked at the post and the one thing I would really like to know about that is what sized tank is this all in or is it all in separate tanks? Because, I'm not really sure how well the lunar wrasse goes with some of those smaller fish (typically they are destroying machines).

Nice to see you the other day Jason, your little guy is not so little!!! Agreed on prices for the RS fish, high, but not out of line. I'd love to have the 12 foot x 4 x 4 tank that you'd need for 8 big tangs...though I don't think I could afford the water bill let alone the rock & corals
I just found out I "know" who the guy is selling, though I don't know him personally/never met (I know a guy who knows him). I guess he's starting over with an even bigger ??? custom AO tank.

AO is the company that the guy on Reef Central that you posted up not that long ago with the 12' glass tank went through. I actually have sent them an email about getting some pricing on what it may cost to go through route. If I was to go this way I think I would just have someone lower the tank in with a crane and be done with it... Instead of having like 10+ people needed just to move it around. I mean this is a place that we'll be staying at for a long time... Might as well do it right so I do not have the option to upgrade... (Unless, I were to add onto the house and go with a cement tank LOL... *can never eliminate your options*)

As far as the little guy... you are right... he is not so little anymore... he's a touch over 15 lbs now... He's the equivalent of carrying around my bowling ball around the house now lol. We did get the island built on Sunday, ordered the counter-top, that extra cabinet that we were able to make room for, and now all I need to do is cut some 3/4" plywood for the base cabinet tops so that on the 7th when the Counter-top comes in I can just set it in place and start clipping it together.
