No, but I can get you a couple of good manufacter's(sp)names and numbers. Give me a couple of days and I will send you info. A couple of good ones with semi-decent prices out of MPLS or MILW.

This is something that is definately down the line... I'm in no hurry for it... It's just something that I want to do down the road when Jen and I build a house (sometime in the next 5 years). I'm just trying to design what I would do get some prices for roughly what it will cost and who knows maybe I'll start collecting some things here and there (already got a skimmer lol).
*reason I am thinking ahead is because the tank I'm looking at doing will be 144"L x 36"W x 14" H * (roughly 310-320 gal)

Yeah I really liked the idea because I can get by with less intense MH (aka I wouldn't have to use the typical 400watt I could get by with a 250watt heck maybe even a 150/175watt seeing the depth wouldn't be there. I just thought that it would be really cool to be able to keep the rockwork much simpler as well as be able to put a ton more things in there while at the same time getting the volume and economy (like I said this is just a thought at this time but, it's ultimately something that I really want to do) *and usually when I really want to do them they just mysteriously show up on our door-step and Jen ends up making out the check lol* (I usually end up working quite a few weeks worth of O.T. to pay it off though hehe)

I agree...I would prefer a wide tank to a really tall one. Easier to light, but I still like the 24" depth, 30" is a bit deep except for a really big tank. I'd go with an 8x3x3 peninsula tank viewable on 3 sides...except you've got a lot of glass to clean. Not gonna happen here though but it's fun to think about!

Well in my mind this tank would be viewable 3 sides. Both Faces and one edge. (Although more than likely it would more turn out to be viewable 2 ways (both faces) and the fish room would be off of one of the edges.

Well, after running my current setup I also know about how much it costs to run a setup like this (IT AINT CHEAP) The electricity bills suck but, after seeing the tank it makes it worth it.

I think some of the pumps (return & skimmer) are the real power drains, as they go 24/7. There are many used that are from 120w-300w. x 24 hours. so at $.10kwh x 24hours x 240watts (this example) that pump alone runs you nearly $18 month. The lights (assuming they actually draw 834w and not more) and the juice costs a dime a kwh (not including "delivery" etc) runs a bit north of $25 a month (if he ran the full fixture for 10 hours a day...)
add in your heaters, chillers, powerheads, skimmers, fans and other doohickies and some tanks easily cost $50-75 to run, the bigger ones double that.
Yes...this hobby can add up in expenses other than livestock, additives, and equipment.
