spider sponge
So I was looking at ordering some of this. Would anyone be interested in a frag. it would probably be about $20.00 for a 2" frag. I thought that wouldn't be bad considering I bought mine 1" for 20.00. Mine just disappeared in the tank and I would like to get more. This sponge is just really expensive, So I thought I would see if others were interested. I have to order it by tonight though. It would be available for the next meeting.

Where are you ordering it from Aaron? I might be interested but, I would have to find a good spot to place it if I did... I'm just curious where you are getting it from.

it would have been from quality marine. I had to get in on the order by 9:00 tonight though. I should have thought about the more sooner. The sponge is well over 100.00 so thats why I couldn't justify getting it just for my self.

dj. without lights man... your going to have to stick with fish. How are the corals doing that you have so far?.... Sponge isn't the easiest to always keep... many don't survive the transportation.
NEEDLESS TO SAY I got new spider sponge today. Just a frag though.. I'll try to post pics tomorrow from the swap.

The polyps on what seem to be good DJ? A monti will not self attach as it needs to be glued. After time it would spread around the edge and could puddle over a rock thus attaching it. But, the easiest way is to get some "Krazy Glue Gel" *The GEL is the best to get for gluing frags IMO* simply take a piece of your rock out (just a small broken piece would even be enough) pat it dry with a towel take the monti out of the tank blow the water off of the place you will be gluing it. Apply a dab of the glue to either the frag or the rock *doesn't matter* stick it together blow on it gently for 10-30 seconds to start to get the glue to set. Frags can be out of water for several minutes with no issues (this happens in times of low tide in the ocean to give you an idea why it doesn't effect them) so you do not need to be in a huge hurry to do this. After the frag will hold itself to the rock put the mounted frag back into the tank. The glue can/will finish drying underwater and will not harm the tank.
p.s. I'm not sure where you have the monti height wise in the tank but it should be placed as high up as possible under pc lighting to maintain it's lighting needs.
Jason

call it what you like. Any where I have gone to order it, its been under a class of sponge. I have seen ball sponges with zooanthids also. I do know this one gets out of the water for a little bit. it dies/ in the same order as a sponge. It can also be squezzed like a sponge..... Also you can pull the polyps off of these guys..... I has a little peace of the old one I did that to. to see if I could get it to attach to the red ball
