Purple Tech

Hey guys,

Wondering if anyone used their purple tech they got from the meeting?

I dosed my tank the day I got it at the meeting and over the next week the purple coralline in my tank EXPLODED! I'd say it looks like it has almost doubled in the last week or so. Just wondering if anyone else had the same results?

I just dosed the one time and have not done so since. I'm afraid that if I do it again I won't be able to see into my tank!!

I was going to add some to my tank (with the bottle that i got at the meeting) but I heard that its a "buffer" and I didnt want to throw off my tank at all. If someone chimes in and says its fine I will right away! lol

I'm not sure if it's the same kind of chemical that Purple Up is... If it is then it will really mess with your Calcium levels and can definately cause your tank to crash in a hurry. Purple Up is a good product if you are looking to get Coraline going in a brand new tank. Although you can really accomplish the same feat by going with a quality salt with a high Calcium level at the beginning and seeding the tank with a piece of established Coraline Loaded LR. And by going this route you do not need to worry about the chemical throwing your tank off.

No clue.

I'd be careful with it though. I don't like to add chemicals to my tank but I said the hell with it and tried this one. I def. under-dosed just to make sure I wans't going to eff everything all up and it still worked amazingly.

I'd definitely test your Ca levels if you haven't, or atleast keep an eye on it. I used purple up before and it substantially changed my Ca levels.

I got a bottle at the party/meeting too and I also dosed it the day after. I haven't noticed any change tho... hmm. I'm going to definitely check my CA when I get home.
