Prizm Pro
I was not very impressed about the smaller model prizm skimmer. I ended up getting very frustrated and returning the POS to foster and smith. So when Matt at OTP had a used Prizm Pro sitting there I was very skeptical about even trying it. Matt was nice enough to let me try it out. After getting it home and squeezing it into my sump I again got ticked off when I was trying to adjust it, although this one does have an air adjustment on it which made it easier to adjust overall. I ended up throwing a new o-ring on the air adjustment valve. This is all that was needed to make adjustment a breeze. I have now had this skimmer running for 3 days and have never been more satisfied this skimmer has pulled out so much junk out of my tank. take a look and see what you think. The skimmate was VERY thick and this skimmer produced a ton of micro bubbles. I just thought I would share my story using one of these skimmers even though everyone seems to think they are terrible. yep I use that same style of skimmer on two of my aquariums and they seem to work quite well also.

It sure beats the CRAP out of the two sea clone 100's that I had in there temporarily or the sea clone 150 that came with our tank set-up.

I'm actually pretty darn impressed. I didn't think that a prism would be able to pull that much stuff out. I'm not completely changed in my opinions of them... But, if you keep posting good thing about them I might be swayed (not that I would downgrade from what I have now). But, I might be more willing to throw the recommendation out to people who are looking for a reasonably priced skimmer and bang for their buck.

LOL, better than a suck clone isn't saying much I heard bad things about the smaller prisms but I didn't know they made a better one. I went from a seaclone to octopus so its hard to even make a comparison. But I may hafta reconsider them as well. Not to replace an octopus of course but still.

Did I ever tell you about the time Brasky went hunting? Well anyway, Brasky decides he's gonna hunt down all four members of the Banana Splits. He stalks and kills every one of them with a machete. They all beg for their lives, except Fleagul.

The Coralife Super 225 compatible with 225 adding a little more micro bubble output. For the price works well.

I have liked mine, they do a great job for what you are spending, I have mine draining into a 2 1/2 gallon bucket so I don't have to keep emptying the cup and just have to clean it at least weekly, as soon as I see it not skimming any more I clean the cup and empty the bucket...I also really like the fact that it has the chamber for running carbon...

Of course size was a big deal when we bought this as well. Since it was going in the sump under the tank it had to be pretty short. We were going to go with a coralife but it was a couple inches too tall. Like you said cary, the carbon chamber is a big plus. It actually holds quite a bit of carbon. How long have you been running this skimmer cary. I think when we talked to you in OTP you were the first person that I had actually talked to that said that they liked the skimmer. I think alot of people lose their patience with it, and just give up on it. If you just take your time and adjust it properly it works WONDERFUL. We were actually looking at purchasing an octopus, but then we ran into height and PRICE issues as well.
