Glad to see the skimmer is working for ya. That is alot of poo. Looks nice and dark too. You guys are right (taminate & Carym) sometimes it just takes a little patience and persistance.

yea it is doing quite well...we had to dump it again yesterday, stuff was trying to escape. it pulls A LOT OUT. we sure are going through a lot of water without the tops on the tank! wow...have to check it every other day at the same time...if more than 48 hrs..it gets LOW. (we keep our home warm...kids and sphynx...so idk if that adds to the water loss--burning pellets i would imagine does contribute)

Well, it being winter doesn't help any either... Air is dry so you lose a ton to keep the moisture up in the house. You could always run a humidifier in the house but you are still going to lose water reguardless if you do this or not. *I tried this for a while but, I didn't really notice much of a difference...*

funny you mention that jason....i run a humidifier in my living room now where my tank is and the water evap has cut down ALOT.....i was having to add like 10g a week to the tank and now im down to 5g every 2 weeks....and this started before my crash.....been runnin the humidifier now for about 4 months...and im still running the tank with an open top......

i dont have a big humidifier....just one of them lil 1/2g table top homemedic things with blue leds....kinda looks like a salad bowl with a top and alil shaft that swirls the water inside it.......

not sure on evap over the past few weeks since ive been doing 5-10g water changes everyday.....and now im donw to 1 10g wc ever other day.....

Like I said I gave up on trying to slow mine down... I just have too much water movement for it to matter... All of my tank water surfaces resemble a sauna and the skimmer draws roughly 1/2gallon-1gallon every day. Like I said I just add my 4-5 gallons of water each day and be done with it lol.
