My Husband just built me this beautiful cover for my tank for Valentine'S. Sweet huh? So we are about to polyurethane it and I was wondering if anyone knows if it matters what kind you use. Just making sure. THanks.

Looks really nice, I like how you have it opening from the top as well as the front.

Minwax/helmsman makes a spar urethane that is an in door/outdoor that protects against sunlight, ran & moisture and temp changes. I have used this outside quite often and it holds up great and I am also using it for all of my trim inside the house for all of my remodeling. The hood looks great and the idea of it opening from the top is a great idea. I will probally be incorporating it in mine. As soon as I get alittle farther along I will post some pic. Carym (my brother) told me to get busy with the camera and take pictures of my progress and post them.
