I'm impressed Cary... I'm surprised that you didn't try drilling the bottom of one of the sides as a line to go to the next tank. (Might be something to try for the next time you build a tank *hint hint hint*) lol

Ok here is some updated pictures of the progress, got the 40 gallon Breeder Reef Ready and got the frag rack made. First picture show the racks slid to the right so can more easily vacumn the bottom. Basically what it has is 2 Permenant rack on the left, one on the bottom and one on the top. Then there are 3 levels of racks on the right one bottom, one middle and one top. Then to the left of those one on top and one middle.
Ok Second picture is with the Racks in postition.
Completed manifold, ok it isn't glue yet but gives you an idea, the middle will feed the 40.
Ok here is the tank that will be used for the DSB, painted it black made a lid with a handle
Ok, so here is the plan, I am hoping that by this weekend I will have the new 40 in place and the DSB and the tank for the macro algae. I hope anyway, but we will see.
Let me know what you think.
Thanks
Cary

Yep, remember running a Mag 1800, most of the tanks don't need a huge flow so should be ok, I will be sure to post back here once I know for sure.

wow... that's amazing cary... I'm not sure how much flow you are going to end up getting to your tanks (even with the mag 18) but, I can't wait to hear about what you end up with after all is said and done.

Yeah, can't wait to figure out how good of flow as well, the good thing is that the small frag tanks are only at about 4' and the 40 feed is on the bottom of the tanks as well so, won't have to pipe those up the full 8 foot, basically only 2 tanks are going to have a full 8' head to fight, and only one of those needs to have good flow, the other is the DSB, which needs a really slow flow.

I'm interested as I said... but, I will also say on that that I'm kind of nervous about all of the 90's and the +'s you have in the setup. You are going to lose a lot more volume with those hard bends than I think you realize. I really hope that I'm wrong on this... But, the more the water gets diverted the less the flow becomes (even with the shut off valves). Again I am very interested and would really love to be wrong on this because it would become a great savings for people with multiple tanks to run just one pump instead of multiples!

im guessing menards loves you right now lol. Anways i hope jason is wrong as well, but with my background in plumbing, im thinking a mag 18 is going to be barely enough for all of the tanks. And the only ball valve you might even need to use is the 40B so you can disribute flow.

The nice thing is I could swap out the Mag 18, for a larger pump if I have to

If it works well I'll definately cash that card in Matt... I just know how much potential water flow you lose when you do sharp angles and then add in Head Water (water being pushed upwards for clarification) and it makes things not work quite the way they could/should. But, as I said I would definately LOVE TO be wrong on this one. Because it is most definately inventful. Only thing that could save you some water flow and get rid of +'s would be a 3 way pipe (they use them in some sewage water applications) kinda resembles a peace sign. Might be something to look at if it doesn't work or even if it does as it could definately save you some pressure.
