If you go to a manufacturer's website, they will often say whether their skimmers are ozone-safe or not. If they don't say, assume they are not. You can also search Reef Central for "ozone safe skimmers" and probably find the answer for any particular skimmer. For the AE skimmer you put a link for, it won't be ozone safe, I can almost guarantee that. These are "import" skimmers from China, and I've yet to see one that people have successfully used ozone on. If you want a quality skimmer that I know will accept ozone, check out an AquaC EV series skimmer with a John Guest fitting.

I really like my EuroReef skimmer, it is quiet, skims fine, and was a HUGE step up from the early seaclone skimmer I was using (I have a 90g with 40 sump). I don't believe mine can be used with ozone but some of their other models may. At least 2-3 of us have ER skimmers. I think 2-3 also have the aqua C skimmers and really like them.

Most people that inject ozone into their skimmer use either an AquaC or Euroreef skimmer, although there are many different brands that have ozone safe skimmers. Most cheap skimmers aren't ozone safe. As Joe stated, go to the manufacturer's website to see if it says it is ozone safe and even if it does say that it is ozone safe, on many of the cheaper ozone safe skimmers you would need to end up replacing gaskets or o-rings over time.

If you are looking at getting a Euroreef here is a good place in indiana that has free shipping on these.
http://www.premiumaquatics.com/Merch...gory_Code=EURO
Not sure on the Ozone part but you may be able to email or call them at the store they are good to work with.
I also just ordered a Euroreef RS 100 from this place and they were out of stock so they bumped me up to the next size up (RS135) for the same price as RS100. Thankfully I was able to borrow Brad's (Thanks) and see if it fit in my sump and it works so I ordered it. It should be here in the next week. I can't wait.

Ooo, that's a great bump up! I love it when customer service goes above and beyond! If that's too big of a skimmer, I'd be happy to take it off your hands for my mod'd 5-3!

IMO bigger the better. I currently have a 90 gal tank, a 20 gal sump with a POS Red Sea Prizm Hang-on which says it is rated for tanks up to 100 but it had a hard time keeping up on my 55 gal tank.
So I am really excited to get something so much better and from what people have said about them they are suppose to be very good.

I think the ER is perfect for your setup (and mine).
Here is ER's view on ozone through their skimmers:
http://www.euro-reef.com/Warranty%20...0&%20FAQ.shtml
ER's are ozone safe, but they don't recommend for technical skimmate/ORP reasons.

yep, Brian P has one, and his water is super clear, I understand there can be some challenges with running ozone safely, using an ORP monitor is supposed to be very helpful, but another chunk of change, plus I guess you need an air dryer too to make it more efficient.

Ozone reactors can be pretty cheap to buy or to build yourself. The Coralife Ozone Reactors are only $30, but I've seen that they are not supposed to be very good. Here's a good link as to different ways to dose ozone. http://www.reefkeeping.com/issues/20...f/index.php#21
I currently dose ozone through my main skimmer since I don't have a bunch of extra space to put a reactor or roll of tubing without it becomming unsightly outside of the stand. Once my fish room is built, I may hook up my homemade DIY skimmer and inject ozone through their.
Regarding the air dryer, they do help to make sure that the ozonizer is more efficeint since it takes the moisture out of hte air, but you need to dry the beads every couple of days. I got sick of doing that, so like many others, I stopped using the air dryer.

No, adding ozone didn't help the coralline take off. When I first started dosing ozone, the gunk produced increased about 10 fold for the first two weeks and was really, really stinky, but that died down some once the water got cleaned up some.
Regarding skimmers, for a little while, I used two skimmers - a DIY skimmer and a Tunze skimmer. Unfortunately, the Tunze skimmer's pump is shot so I ended up ditching both skimmers and I now use my AquaC EV-150 (of which I have a new Mag 12 sitting on my doorstep right now to replace my current skimmers' pump (Mag 9.5) so I better go home and hook it up over lunch). Once I move, I may hook up the DIY skimme ragain and dose ozone through that.

I hope you have a 5 gallon bucket ready next to your skimmer Brian until you can get it to run right. Like I said that one day my skimmer filled that bucket 1/2 full overnight lol. Now I'm producing roughly 1/4-1/2 gallon/day Still nothing to complain about and it's some pretty nasty looking stuff. A little bit more liquidy than I would personally like. But, I'll take having to add a bit of water every 2nd day to knowing that the gunk is still in the tank. Any of you guys happen to have any preferences to a top off switch type? I'm going to set one up sometime in the next few weeks. If everything goes right with that tank display unit that I'm trying to get then I will have 6 drilled 10 gallon tanks and a 27 gallon drilled tank to play with as well as a 1/3 hp chiller and uv sterilizer. (I'm hoping that I can get a good deal on it though). So, I would put 2 of those 10 gallons together with a VERY small submersible and run it for a fill.
