What do you guys think about running a phosphate reactor on my tank?? Thought I'd ask you guys before I purchased anything. Does anyone have one that they are not using?? Do you guys think that running a UV sterilizer could be beneficial??

I bunch of us actually run phosphate reactors. I do on my system although I think the one I have for my system is small. But, I haven't had any phosphate issues since installing it. Watch Reef Central and you can find them pretty reasonably priced (that's where I got mine w/ pump and media)

Yep...does a good job dropping PO4 from bad water, xtra food, dead critters. Change media every few months and you're good to go.

AWESOME!!! IT looks 100000000x better than it did not that long ago. Glad to hear that whatever you changed did indeed fix your issues. I know it was a bit of a pass in the *****... But, there was light at the end of the tunnel and the tank looks nice I will say!

Ill post a few more pics of my tank tomorrow sometime. The ones up above only have the 130 watt lights on. I'll take some more with the T5's on!! It looks even better!! I just sit and stare at my tank now it is so clear. Does anyone else do that?? haha

I'm pretty sure that EVERYONE does that... That's the real reason why we are all in this crazy hobby. I can't say that I've spent as many hours starring at my tank as I have spent maintaining/planning to set it up/actually building it and re-building it... But, I'm sure the hours are quickly catching up and it's probably the most gratifying thing about this hobby. The ability to correct something through good housekeeping (such as you had to do).
