Sure... Just put it lower or if you can aim it from the back into the rock pile you have... This will definately cloud up your water with debris so I would be ready to do a water change to try to get some of this stuff out ASAP.

are you dosing 2 part solution for Calcium? If so, the two parts were mixed to close together and caused precipitation....I hope that's the explanation for the cloudiness.

Definately water change as you are currently going through an algae bloom. You need to find the cause of your extra phosphates because if my hunch is right your PO4 is going to be SKY high... If you have a sump do you have any kind of macroalgae in there to assist in removing extra phospates/nitrates? If not stop in at the fish store and see if you can get a phosphate sponge... Seeing you are using a canister filter you can just add this directly to your filter... This could be another reason for the bloom... As the canister could be harboring the bad stuff that is causing the tank to not run properly.

That's just an example of what I'm talking about.

I am now using a megaflow 2 sump with a turboflotor 1000 skimmer. Still the same problem with the water....GREEN. I changed out 30 gallons today and it doesn't look like I did anything!! Going back to freshwater now....haha just kidding!! But seriously....grrrrrrr

Glad you've got a sump, and good skimmer. The sump/skimmer combo will certainly make things much easier, but the skimmer cannot pull out phosphates. You can put in some chaeto algae (macro=big algae, good) to use the phosphate and out-compete the bad stuff. I use a phosphate reactor in my sump and phosban, changed every 3 months or so, to help keep the number low. I also use chaeto, but it doesn't grow well because the low phosphate level. Get a phosphate sponge, or continue doing water changes with good quality water. my 2cents

Are you getting skimmate out of the skimmer yet?

Yea, only greyish skimate....not any of the serious sludge junk. I havent gotten the exhaust ports on the skimmer to shoot out and hit the wall on the overflow box like you said they did. It just kind of dribbles out. It is skimming and working correctly from what I can tell. Did it just do that cuz you had the powerhead hooked up to the skimmer? I just have a siphon going to it.
