Looks beautiful!
When I started my 125, I had about 1/2 "white" rock and 1/2 live rock to save on money. It wasn't any time at all and you couldn't tell the difference. I'm sure the same will happen for you. Just that darned waiting! Reefing taught me patience... oh, and also, how to live on ramen noodles!!

The tank is really looking nice... I'm glad you got one of those racks that Matt was selling... Heck he is selling them for basically what I can make them for lol. *I wish those magnets weren't quite as expensive as they are* I stopped in to see Matt yesterday and was impressed with the new "cascade system" he was thinking about doing over his new fragging system. I tried to convince Jen to go for this idea in the past and had been shot down only to be shot down again yesterday as well lol. (I'll keep trying though)
Anyhow, my ENTIRE tank started with White Uncured rock... (I moved 2 of my rocks from my 70 gallon to start the tank out) and you know what my tank looks like now just a year and a half later... If I didn't tell you what was the origional rock or you didn't see the pictures you'd never know (seeing the rocks haven't moved in that time).

I would consider getting a 5-6 foot, 24 wide 24 deep tank in the same place, but that would require a whole new stand, skimmer, and light, not to mention rock sand, etc...it would turn into a 2-3k job pretty darn fast...and that aint' gonna happen.
I think the magnets run about $3 each, so probably around $15 to make at the minimum. Figure shipping, and you're better off getting one from OTP (how much are they there?) Plus...I'm thrilled at the new stuff he's getting in...helps that we've got a thriving group eh?

The racks I think he said were around the $15-$18 range (just talked to him quick about this). Yes, the magnets after doing a bulk buy *of 50* turned out to be $3.10 each after shipping. The thing that was nice about making my own though was that I could make the rack whatever size I wanted (So, I have a few that are 24" long) *and that's with just the 2 magnets inside* I still am going to order some of the $0.99 magnets and put them on the outside of the glass to save some money on making the racks. I'll just get some of the sticky felt and put it to the tank side so not to scratch the glass. Also, after getting to see the racks OTP Matt has I think I'm going to glue on a anti-tip piece like those racks have.
Matt, I would agree that it would cost quite a bit to get a bigger setup going... But, wouldn't it be worth it? As Jen would say "do it for the fishes" lol

oh i completely understand it takes a lot of money to upgrade...we are on our 3rd tank (we are keeping this one!!!!) and I decided to not keep track of how much we spent...it is better for my sanity. I know eventually wherever we end up living...I will probably have another-bigger tank along with this one...but that will be away down the road-as it is not cheap by any means. expensive hobby-but very rewarding/fun!
