it moved a bit when we put in this tank--but not before and not since
when we took it out of the nano-it was a lot bigger. but the levels in that tank where though the roof! (stupid people not taking care of stuff and then pawning it off) anyway, i fed it a frozen brine shrimp cube last night, and it almost completely closed around it right away (the whole thing doesnt fit inside of it) i do not really want to "over feed" my tank right now...would like for my algae to go down.

Rearranging rocks...

Well, we did some moving around in the tank-after looking at it for awhile I was just not happy. We piled everything up on opposite ends, and now will need to fill in the middle with a BEAUTIFUL piece...I will wait to find the one that I know FITS. Here are a couple pix. Oh, and the corals are not in their places yet, want to get everything situated before gluing into place.

If you can just place corals for now without glueing down that way you can move them as you adjust things...I think for my tank I have maybe 50/50 glued/attached and other are still loose so they can be moved....

yea, we did that with a few, and the rest are in the sand bed. those darn hermit crabs knock everything over-so we have to be careful.

I think I'm less than 50/50 for my tank... I'm probably more like 30/70 for movable pieces... Really there are only about 5-10 pieces TOTAL in my tank that have permenant homes. If you do not want to mount your pieces for good you could always drill the rock. One person holds the rock (while in the water mind you *or in a 5 gallon pail would work as well*) and drill holes slightly larger than your frag plugs so that they can just snug into the holes. I've seen this done on several tanks and if done correctly the holes complete coraline over and you wouldn't even really know they are there when unfilled.

This would also cure part of your pesky hermit crab issues.

about your nem, has it ever opened since you took it in?? I'm thinking you might have a water chemistry problem, if its always closed. Are you using efficient test kits when testing your water??

mine get fed fish meat, and squid twice weekly. They got large quick lol.

It has not opened up since we took it out of the Nano that we bought. When it was in the nano it was opened up but the nitrates were 200ppm )not sure how anything was alive). When we acclimated it to our 55 gallon set up it closed and has stayed closed since(6 months ago) We also had another anemone in the tank with it that was in perfect shape. We test water with quick dip strips along with the occasional chemical test. We test for nitrates, nitrites, alkalinity,PH,calcium. Our nitrates are currently 0. Nitrites 0, alkalinity 180, PH 7.8 to 8.0, and calcium was 480. Since the move from the nano. It has been moved to a 55 gallon, then to a 47 gallon and now to our 125. It has been very small and closed ever since it came out of the nano.

BTW tangmang, were you the guy at Old towne pets tonight that we talked to?

Thanks
