New goodies...had to share

Hello, I know I post a lot-sorry... just wanted to post pix of our new skimmer and some of the goodies we picked up at the meeting. The skimmer installation got a little complex at the last minute. We had to run it outside the sump and outside the stand...stand is too small But now we have pvc pipes running behind the stand and it works well. The first pix if my dork of a husband holding his new "toy" *expensive toy* this is a neat little(big) machine, we will keep you posted as to what we think of it.Attachment 67753

more pix

more pix of stuff...also with the skimmer, we will be enclosing it, we did not have a way to haul wood-and needed it off the ground fast! so nathan picked up a small "shelf unit" (cheap-o..hopefully it doesnt get wet and fall apart !) I put all the corals in my 55 and the pix are kinda blue because of the t5's. i prob. could have shut the actinics off first -o well. got some acans from brad--gonna let them "recover" after all the H*** they went through at the meeting. got turquoise paly from cary, and a few others.

nice pics.... fyi 3 of them don't load for some reason Where did you come up with a small shelf like that? It looks like a convient height. Or did you have to get a bigger shelf and cut it down.

It'll be interesting to see how you like the C-Skim, since there aren't many reviews of it around. Keep us posted!

I wasn't even sure what brand of a skimmer that was at first... I was going hrmmmmm interesting looking design... I'd be very interested to see how your results are. What is that specific model rated for volume wise (curious)?

Nice looking pieces of acan though! *some of those look vaguely familiar* hehe... if you are ever looking to do some trading for some of the pieces that neither Matt nor I did get I'm sure that we can work something out.

looks like I'll have to go over there. I'm guessing its in there shelving area. that was the original height correct? if nothing else maybe I'll just have to get the skew from ya. Tomorrow I will look.

it is 11.75" tall..it is in the shelving area, and i think they have them at w.m. too...they are the cheap fake wood-but quite sturdy..im guessing because they are so small..idk. it is the same thing my kids toy holder is made out of. jason- yea it is the c-skim, we will see how things go, it is a very nice skimmer so far. (nathan says urs looks like R2D2, and ours is WALL-E..but prettier!!!) anywho... the acans are nice..i did not get many pix. need to take more..but i promised myself and nathan that i would keep my hands out of that tank for a FULL WEEK-to let everyone settle in nice before deciding what is going in my main tank

skimmer

Well, I took this pic a couple days ago. Everything seems to be operating very well. Emptied the skimmer cup once already. Still have to set up a drain line and we are going to build a cabinet around it tomorrow. This skimmer produces an amazing head of foam. Very simple to adjust as well. The neck washing system works good, it does not get everything out of the neck but it gets rid of a lot of the build up. It took a good 24 hours for break in and then everything was perfect. Red Sea C-Skim 1200, A+ in my book.

Its so easy a Cave Man could use it!!
