Name Change
Hey all, I had my username changed. I did not want people thinking that my former name was directed to individuals with disablities. As most know TardFarmer is my online gaming name. A smacktard is someone who is out to ruin other peoples goodtimes. i.e. using racist or homophobic names, teamkilling and just being a general a s s hole. I run game servers and a lot of my time is spent modding them which includes kicking/banning smacktards, thus the nickname tardfarmer.
I asked the mods to change my name, they typically do not change someones user name but in my case they could see where I was coming from and were nice enough to make an exception. Kyuss is one of my favorite bands and is also another one of my online gaming names. Plus it's shorter to type!!

Me too lol... Just got used to calling you by the old name... Now I gotta call you a name I'm not sure if I can pronounce lol.
I think it's a good idea that you did indeed change it though Josh, when I first met ya I wasn't sure what it was meant to be about (until after you told me quite some time ago).

I always wondered what that user name meant. I guess now I know. Maybe I should explain mine sometime?
Glad you got it changed and are happy with it.

lol You are not the first. Don't worry you can still call me Tard It will be a private joke that the newbies wont understand. I even changed it on my gaming forums today, www.wisconsindeathtrip.org . I am gonna get yelled at for that one as I have had that handle for 10 years, lots of people in my clan don't even know my first name.....

So just to be clear, we can all still call you tardfarmer right? Just to make things easier.

Short version, it was a nickname given to me by a lady in Boston Massachusetts. She would call a mutual friend of ours and ask "You talking to the Dumb Hick or the Smart Yankee?" If the answer was "Dumb Hick" she knew it was me. If the answer was "Smart Yankee", then she knew she wasn't getting an answer. Her reasoning? She knew "Smart Yankees" didn't exist (Her words). Since then, I mispelled it on purpose since Hikks can't spell and the name has stuck with me for over 15 years now.

Speeking of name tags... is that something that anyone else has thought about doing? Like many of you now know, (yes, I'm going to say it again) I have been out of this awesome hobby/obsession for over a year, and I would like to put a name to a face after the meeting on the 25th. If there is anyone that thinks this is a good idea I will go pick some up. Just a thought.

Umm, how are we planning to "distribute" the LARK name tags now that the design was voted on at the last meeting? I've got the design saved on my computer, so if someone wants to go through all the work of typing out names and usernames and such, let me know.
I could "distribute" it and have everyone do it him/herself, but it'd probably work best if we got some of those plastic badge holders so that the name tags would last more than a meeting or two... Just a thought.
