Looks nice, I was looking at that at OTP but don't have a place for it...after the stuff I picked up tonight and the frags I will be getting, I really don't have room....I have plans for the spot where Brians Toadstool is at....I really had to re-arrange just to get he xmas tree rock in...might mean more frags being available at the meeting...

heheh, I am giving some to Hansmatt and I am pretty sure Cruiser wants some. That puts you third on the list. I definitly want to split it up some considering how **** touchy Xenia is. I am going to set small rocks next to it and hope it grows onto it, that always worked well with my pink xenia before the huge rock I had of it all melted....

Scott, I had not noticed any pulse to it yet, but it may be getting enough flow where I have it so it does not need to. Plus it had only been in the tank for a few hours at that moment.

My xenia does not pulse noticably at all, until you turn off the flow for a bit then they pump like crazy. Me-thinks it as to do with a simple cost-benefit analysis...."why expend energy if the food is flowing across your polyps anyway"

That is my assumption also Matt. Some people say that they get almost all their food from light but then others say they thrive on nitrates and I have even seen people using them in place of a macro for nitrate removal. Not sure fi it works or not but some swear by it.

yeah, I've heard that too. I know mine declined for a bit with drop in nitrates, but then adapted. I've seen the xenia bed filters...pretty cool. Maybe this will help your ongoing issue?

sweet down the road we should work out a trade. according to Live aquaria they carried two types of blue xenia. The waving hands and the other blue xenia (which isn't currently listed on there site). I believe yours is classified as the waving hands.
http://www.liveaquaria.com/product/p...694&pcatid=694
and mine is of the other. I'm basing this off of what I had looked up before when I had gotten mine and the current structure of yours vs. mine.
I'd be courious to know if yours is compatable with the pink's. Mine is not and has killed off some of them. I'd be interested in some also.
I have been able to get very little pulse from my blue, it is getting better ( I think) but my pinks pulse like mad
