Koralia's
Got some news guys... Went over to olde town pets today for some supplies and he's going to be getting some new stuff in soon that a few of you guys may be interested in.
He has a huge order of Koralia's coming in (everything from the 1's to the 4's) seeing a bunch of us have been looking into getting a few. And he's going to be giving club members a discounted price on them. The price he mentioned to me is cheaper than I can get it shipped to myself from anywhere new. So, I'm not sure how badly you all need to get some water movement but, I think I'm going to hold off until he gets these in in the next few weeks. He also confirmed that the Koralia company is having a huge back-log on the pumps.
Another interesting thing (which I did buy) was that he now has frag plugs (flat discs, the plugs with the nub that goes into the frag trays, as well as some frag discs that are odd shaped) and surgical steel cutters, tweezers, and scissors. The frag plugs aren't badly priced either. One of the better prices I've personally seen in a while other than having to drive miles and miles out of the way. He also got a demo of the mag tray that I had just mentioned in one of my previous posts if you all want to check it out in person. It's just as good as I was thinking it might be. I still think the idea of getting the magnets as a club and making them is a fantastic idea. Especially if we can get enough of the magnets ordered to bring the price down drastically.

Figured I would give him props on getting some new items that will benefit both the club as well as himself.

Great! I've not been in to visit Matt in awhile, it's a good excuse. I'd love to shop locally, but especially when purchasing a bunch of livestock, it's hard to justify the price increase. That said, I've purchased many individual fish from him, plus frozen food & supplments. He does try to meet the needs of a pretty demanding customer base, kudos to him!
I'd like to get some of the snap-off bases.

Yeah, saw the frag plugs last time I was in, I thought he sold all the bone cutters when I was in there...I picked up a couple of plate corals last time and am just trying to figure out which one I want to try fragging. The larger is probably 4" across and the smaller is probably 3", both are long tenacle's and are doing great so far. Did pick up salt, he got the shipment in so if you need some now is the time to get it, he has a good price on it.

Well from the reading that I have done, you score the underside, then use tin snips/bone cutters to cut it into smaller pieces. I will post pics of the process once I do it. I might try and do it this week.

I could not wait any longer for flow in the bottom of my tank so I purchased a Koralia #2. All I can say is wow! nice soft wide flow. Corals are loving it. I am going to buy a #3 or #4 from Matt when he gets them in.

the way I heard was basically useing a coral glue to the bottom of a plate and a rock and after awhile just pop the rock and plate apart and there will be a little one. Do you mind posting a link to where you are reading this?

I've got two #4's in my tank, and love them. I clean them every few months in vinegar, and so far they've yet to let me down. Can't be beaten for the price, IMO.

Is there a dramatic water volume difference between the K3 and the K4? Matt from OTP just got them in and I am going to get a pair of either of them and would like to know if I went with the K4 that they aren't going to be overkill and blow everything I have around like a hottub jet would.
Any info would help thanks again guys.

The flow is really dispersed, so the 4's shouldn't be a problem.

I picked up two of the number 4's yesterday, flow is strong if it is right at something but dispersed enough for items further away, granted I didn't have a lot of time last night to play with them but, so far they seem good.
