The January meeting will be held on January 27th at 2:00. I will host the meeting at my place. Directions and my phone number will be posted in the member's only forum within a couple of weeks.
Below is a little information about my reef setups:
45 Gallon Reef - My 45 gallon setup was originally a FOWLR setup that was converted into a reef tank 1 1/2 years ago, primarily as a place to put coral frags that were outgrowing my main reef tank. It has a 2x96w Orbit PC light fixture over it for lighting. Filtration is accomplished using a
AquaC Remora skimmer, and a medium HOB CPR Aquafuge, and Live Rock. This tank does not have a sump so additional circulation has been added by installing two additional powerheads. Livestock includes a Coral Beauty Angel, Yellow Tang, Blue Fin Damsel, and two
False Percula Clowns. Corals in the tank include zoos, softies, lps, and anemones. Coral growth in this tank is slow/very slow due to the tank being soo tall with only PC lighting over it.
125 Gallon Reef - This is my main reef tank where all new corals go. It has been setup for just under three years now. Most of the components have been redone or upgraded since the tank was setup. The setup consists of a 125 gallon drilled tank, a 30 gallon sump, and a lot of equipment. Lighting consists of 2-140w VHOs and 3-250w MH. Filtration includes an AquaC EV-150, an ozonizer, macroalgae, and a ton of LR. A Phosban reactor is also installed, but the media is rarely replaced. For a cheap, but effective means for adding topoff water, a 5 gallon bucket with a float swith installed in the sump drips kalk water into the tank, keeping the water level constant. Livestock includes a Yellow Tang, Sailfin Tang, 4 blue/green chromis, 2 orange line chromis, 2 tomato clown, a 6-line wrasse, and a pseudochromis. Corals include a variety of zoos, softies, lps, sps, and anemones.
