There are plenty of people here that have that coral. Since my tank is just getting going again, I don't have a whole lot, but my green leather is the largest coral that I have and it is doing good. If nobody else offers to bring one for you by Friday evening, I can frag mine and bring it to the meeting.

Timmy,
I have some, but had a big die-back a few months ago, and only have around 2" growth so far. I too can offer some down the road if you don't get an earlier offer.

I would but mine isn't looking the greatest, been moving it trying to get better flow...or maybe I should just give you a frag in case mine doesn't make it.. if nobody else speaks up we might be able to do this as well

Sounds like mine is the only one that's doing o.k. as of late... Mine hasn't really been growing much (but, it's pissed off about where I placed it). But, do to lack of room I was forced to position where it is (though this will change once I get it relocated to the basement tank).
I wont have one for this meeting for you Tim as I told you as Matt's ordeal but, I should be able to have one for the next one.

Thanks guys, but I can wait till you get some better growth. Maybe at the next meeting. I'll be sure to ask then.

Tim - Mine is doing good so I'll bring a frag for you. It's kind of ironic though that I'm the only one that has one that is doing both good and large enough to frag. I know that Scott (paetzold) is planning on coming to the meeting and should still have a green leather that is large enough to frag, if he is willing to start fragging corals already.

I can't say I am ready to frag already (still a newb) as this is really what I want to see and learn about at this meeting. However I would be willing to frag some off after the meeting or at another time that you and I can work out...Don't mean to be a pain but at this point I am more worried about killing something because I don't know what I am doing. Lets talk at the meeting and then I can get you a frag for sure.
Thanks
Scott

I see you are coming Sat as well. Would it be possible to get about 10 minutes with you to answer some of my 'probably dumb' questions specifically regarding your old tank?
Thanks much,
Scott
PS I am calling it a success (2 months and nothing has died!!!)

Glad you are coming Scott...I know I was in the same boat about fragging stuff. In my experience, it's rare to kill the coral with careful fragging. Big things to remember (we'll talk about these Sat too)
1) keep in water as much as possible, drying out and heat are worse enemies than cutting.
2) Dont cut too much of your parent...there is a critical mass of the coral where it grows well. My smallest frags take longer to grow than do the larger ones.
3) try to allow the frags to heal in the same water/lighting, mostly true for SPS/acros I think.
4) Rubber bands, thread, and super glue GEL are your friends...use them
As your tank grows...you may find it good to prune regularly or you will have corals overgrowing into other's territory.

It can be scary the first few times you frag corals, but once you do it a couple times, you realize how hardy corals can be. The freshly cut frags, however, can be much tougher to keep alive (esp. when referring to SPS corals).
Tim - I'll bring a frag of the green leather for you so Scott can get more comfortable with how things work before dealing with fragging a coral.
Scott- I'm glad to hear that things are going good with that tank. Many of the different corals in there I have owned for 8+ years (and fragged 100's of times) and it is good to know that they are going good for you. Most of the corals, even the SPS variety in there, are pretty hardy. However, don't get too worked up when an SPS or two dies sometime down the road, it will happen at some point. I can guarantee that because it happens to everyone. By now, you've probably figured out almost everything with the tank, but I'll be happy to answer any remaining questions that you have.

Since my tank is just getting going again, it would probably work better if you could frag a peice instead of me if yours is doing good and is large enough. Let me know if you'll be bringing a frag for Tim instead.
