Great now what?

My boss gave me his old oceanic 58gallon. Now what am I supposed to do? It's not reef ready but I think I am going to drill it, I have another overflow from glass-holes.com. Hrmm maybe replace my 12gallon nano in my bedroom with it? My wife is going to execute me....

Dude...you're getting more tanks than Jason!!! 58g, then the "leaky" 75, recently the 90g with another 58 sump etc, and now another 58g???? oh, and the nano?
Maybe you are going to have to build "the deathstar". Sounds like you have the return pump to make it all go, but you'll need a monster skimmer for this empire. Perhaps you can make a skimmer tank out of one of the 58g's, maybe put in an MSX 300 in there by itself.
ttyl...

heheh

Matt, sorry I have not called you yet, life got really busy.

I have not setup the 90 yet for I want to plan out the plumbing correctly. I don't really know what I am doing with plumbing so this could take me a while.

The holding tank actually is not a 65 gallon tank, it's a 65 gallon drum with a pump installed into it for doing his water changes. Cruiser gave me the idea of using it as another extension of the system, i.e. adding water into it and then plumbing it into the setup thus adding another 65 gallons of water. As far as skimmers go I have been looking at My reef creations skimmers, they seem to be very good and reasonably priced and you can upgrade them for larger systems if need be.

The nice thing about the 58 is that my T5's will fit on there! I just gave the 45 gallon to a buddy so he can start a tank, freshwater though so I was not sure what to do with my T5's. Well now I know.

Oh and my buddy Jake says he can get me a 125... That would end up being done if and when I finish the basement...

Hey, I can honestly say that I have FINISHED upgradings to my system. I have ample room for frags in my 20 gallon frag tank, I have plenty of room for chaeto in my sump, and the 70 gallon is just a frag tank waiting to be utilized. So, unless something amazing happens where someone is going to be selling out of their corals and I buy them all then I SHOULD have room for a heck of a long time. And with the coral convention just around the corner I'll be in even better shape as my frag racks in the 125 should for the most part even be completely empty.
As far as skimmers like I said you can never go wrong with getting a skimmer a fair bit bigger than you need as I can vouch for you WILL GROW INTO IT reguardless if you plan on it or not!

Leave you alone for one day and look what haqppens......

Sounds great, I can help with the plumbing plans when you have time. I looked around madison for your Blue Assessor, no luck. Do you know if anyone local has a Hunter green acro? Found a nice size one here reasonable, may pick that up. They have Blue Maxima clams for $35, should I get one at that price, or not great?

Sorry to hijack your thread, thats all for now, be back Fri PM.

John

No problem John! Not sure about the hunter green acro. That seems like a great price for a maxima. Can you pick me up one too?
