Getting Started
Here is my progress. Last Tuesday steel order came in. With the help of a good friend we cut and welded up the stand for the 75 gal and the 40 gal tanks. Thursday went to the local lumber yard to buy plywood and trim. Ended up coming home with a free 75 gal reef ready and wet/dry filter from the lumber yard ????? "It was left in a rental unit somewhere and one of their contractors brought it back to the lumber yard. It had been sitting in there warehouse for two years. Other than really dirty it looks to be in good shape." With my good luck it is now in my garage.
The last three days I have been working on putting the plywood and trim on them. Tonight I stained them and tomorrow I am planning on cutting our the doors and putting them on. Added pictures to the DIY gallery. Not sure how to post them yet.

Sweet. Freebies are always nice. So does this mean your setting up more than just the one system

Just goes to show ya there are odd things to be found at odd places... I do have to ask what made you ask if they had a Reef Ready Tank available at the hardware store though! lol...

I didn't ask, the guy that was cutting the wood for me asked what I was doing with it and I told him that I was building a stand for a salt water tank and that was how we got talking about the other tank. This is my first salt water setup I better just stick with one big tank.

Pictures
Ok lets try this picture thing again.
I can't wait until the snow is gone so I don't have to do these projects in my kitchen.

I'd be interesed in how your steel build went, and the skinning of the tank in wood...thinking of doing the same.
