Up and running

Well we are done for the day, water, salt, sand, and Live rocks added. Only had a couple of issues with the water backing up and making a mess but now it has been running steadly since about 2:00 pm and no issues. I am so happy . Can't wait for the water to clear up so I can really get a true feel for how it is going to look.

Spray Bar for DSB tank

Cary finishing up the piping. I am sure glad he knows what he is doing. Thanks Cary

Coiled up hose attached to piping system, valve is located in upper center of the pic. for a drip line for when I can finally start putting critters in my tank.

Piping and top view of DSB. We also made a grey pvc cover for this to keep the light out.

Sump

Refiguim

Both Tanks with salt added, so how long does it take to come out of the fog. ha ha

Finished putting on trim between tank stands and the temporary door fronts until I can get the stained glass panels made.

I think they were talking about covering the window if they ran into algae issues, i could be wrong though.

window

I am planning on blocking off most of the light from the window. No choice on where to put the tanks I have a small "L" shapped living room. I had to get ride of my couch, loveseat and my antique upright piano just too make room for the tanks and have room for a couple of chair strategictly placed for viewing.

I only mentioned it cause I had major problems back in the day with a tank in front of a window....could not control the heat in the summer.....even with it blocked....a old house though....

Wow, it really looks great Sandy. Nice plumbing job there Cary you get two thumbs up from me. Just as nice if not BETTER than I think I could've done. Guess there is a new "LARK plumbing Guru" in the club. I think I'll resign my title to you lol.

It really does look terrific though Sandy, nice job on the setup and the stands look terrific! I just can't wait to see what you have in mind as far as the panels go. I'm sure that is going to be just as nice as the tank itself will be.

I forgot to mention... My 125 sits infront of a window as well.. The only thing I did was to install a window blind and keep it closed to prevent the sun from even coming in from that window. I have an older house as well. We had issues with heat in our house in general so I can not say that the tank was having heating issues from the window (because I know this was not the case). I'm just trying to give you ideas seeing dealing with algae from sunlight is a major pain in the arse.

HTH.

Stained Glass Doors

Here is a picture of the custom french doors that I just completed. I will probally use a similar design for the doors on my tank stands. Just something related to the ocean instead of tree leaves. These doors are right beside the tanks.
