"Fiji Gold"- Coral calcium. Anyone use this?

I am looking at Fiji Gold coral calcium. Mainly because it is all natural and you can't overdose the tank with it. Seems a safer bet. Does anyone use this?

ALL products can be overdosed. Just because it as "all natural" doesn't mean that it is good for your tank or that it can't be overdosed. There are a ton of natural products that can kill your livestock (or humans if you really think about it). Any of the calcium products available, or DIY calcium additives can be dosed safety, without much effort if you test often enough.

agreed on the over-dosing... (they have directions on dosing right on the package) I do have some of the product that I have never used from LAST years F&S convention. They were giving away free samples of it in our grab bags.

So, no I have never used it myself... But, I do have some on hand if you wanted to try it out.

according to the label its "impossible to overdose" but a rule of thumb is one tablespoon per 30 gallons. I to have some fiji gold sitting around here. No not used yet either. I do intend to use it at some point but not just now. I have used the fiji mud on the other hand and use that in my sump. Not the same product but also by them. That however is very messy. You have me thinking about trying it now though. Maybe this weekend.

Another not so hot review here...IMO good old 2 part is the simplest solution for lower Ca demand tanks...Kalk is good too, but requires a bit more careful handling...for a high demand tank a Ca reactor is the way to go as 2 part gets expensive.

What are your Ca and alk readings...what do you hope to gain from this product?
