the lobo just took a header into a rock, looks like I'll lose a head (skeleton showing)...any tips on a recovery?

move the damaged head to a shady area and don't touch for a while.

FRAG IT lol no Just cross your fingers and don't touch. I know mine gets upset when I touch it. It just seems happy left alone in the sand. If I touch it its gets some white spots till it heals. The only thing that might help is to incease the food amount to help healing, but I don't know what else that may offset in your tank.

I'm just not sure on the correct way to frag mine. did that plate ever get fragged at carys? How is that doing?

Big diamond dremmel, or tile saw...I'd back saw both on the bottom then chisel-twist, razor through the flesh.
