Drum Roll Please
Hmm.....whats this?
Fragile Electronic Equipment??
Oh hmm....
BAM! BUBBLE KING MINI 160!! WOO HOO!!!
Its taking a little vinegar bath at the moment and I gotta get some eggcrate to build a little riser for it tomorrow but I'll post some pictures when I get it going in the tank. So far the foamy head its producing now is CRAZY.
The Coralife 125 was a good skimmer for its time, for the price and everything its done a great job and I'd still recommend it to someone starting out or in a pinch for money. BUT the sedra pump was a HUGE upgrade for it, that made all the difference the original pump for those skimmers really is poorly designed.
THANKS A LOT JOE, after you were here I had to think twice about my skimmer.

Those skimmers rule, I have been very impressed with Matts, been babysitting his setup while he is on vacation. It pulls out some stinky stuff!

Yeah first time I emptied Mike's for him I bought threw up when I dumped it. So I'm hoping for equally good results!

Well, decided this morning since I was up at 6 that I better put this thing in. WRONG. Took a lot of thinking, moving, swearing, *start over*. GRR. Well I got it in.
Its a tight fit, it would appear that my measurements were wrong. The optimal operating water level is about 10-11 inches. I'm at 9. So I think next time I empty the cup I'll take an inch off my eggcrate stand.
After clowning around with the water level I couldnt figure out why it wasnt coming to a better head. Then realizing my inlet into the pump was a bit too close to the wall, moved it back and away it went.
More later!

Actually I don't even have probly a 1/4" between my lid and the bottom glass. One of the nice things bubble king put the vents on the outside rim of the collection cup lid, so in order for it to bubble over the top it'd have to fill the cup first.
This definitely confirmed some suspicions I had about my new stand/sump design. I will now be going with a 30 breeder instead of a 40 breeder. There would not have been adequate room to maneuver things around inside it with the height being 18". The 30 breeder will be 36" x 18" x 12" so plenty of space front to back but just enough in height that i can fit this in and get the cup out without any problems.
