Dr. Fosters and Smith Frag Convention
I'm not sure how many of you all are going to this but, I just signed my wife and I up to go. If any of you all are interested in my possibly picking something up while we are there I might be able to make some room for a few extra additions in a cooler =). Just figured I would ask. We are going to be there Saturday and Sunday. Figured seeing as they are giving tours of their facility it might be a chance to see what they have behind closed doors. (although if it is any thing like the tours we give here at our cabinet shop they will have it all candy coated lol).

forgot to post the address incase anyone is interested in either seeing what it's all about and/or going to the convention as well... It's not a bad price for a weekend admission at $15/person for the basic package.

For those of you that haven't ever heard about the Drs. Foster & Smith coral conference & frag swap in Rhinelander, WI, it is supposed to be awesome. I haven't been able to make it work out for me yet so I've never attended it, but others in the LARK club have. I know of at least one or two people within the club that are planning on selling some corals out of their vehicle in the parking lot. Supposably you can pick up some really good deals on corals and dry goods during the conference along with listening to some nationally renound reef experts and see some great tours of their facilities. You'll need to let us know what you think of it Jason.
Jason - I've always heard that the hotels fill up quick in the area, so if you haven't already booked a room, you should book one ASAP.

I got my tickets and hotel reservations, like 3 months, and I am so excited about going this will be my first time going. It would be cool if everybody in the club could meet somewhere and have a couple drinks, and do whatever. That is just an idea though, well I got to run.

We have talked about going the last two years now, just doesn't work out quite right when we plan our family camping trip. Maybe next year we will just go up there camping and check it out.

My wife and I will be going on this trip for our one year anniversary, congradulaitons on two years. I can't for the weekend to come, so I can spend all of my money=-). We should get a list of people together so that we can see how many people are going to be up there.

what day is your anny. chris? And I definately think getting a list of people together is a great idea... Could give everyone a chance to either meet each other (in my case) or just to swap stories both good and horror lol.

Just a strong suggestion. Don't go there trying to sell from you vehicles (I don't think you and your corals will really benefit from it). they have a large pole barn setup there. and a great setup. Its easy to get in and look. They will bag and seal everything up for you. Last year they even had coolers for everyone. You have many people inside there buying and selling. A while back it was 52 sellers. Alot of the corals will be selling for 5.00 to 75.00 mostly under 30.00. Fosters will have there 10% off. Plus they will have there own auction style setup this year. There will be a few more other things going on also. It is WELL worth the entry cost for anyone to go there. Last year I won a 3 gal nano tank. They had all kinds of prizes. If they keep growing at this rate (compared to last) soon its going to get too crowded over there.

This year they maxed out "traders" at 70, and it's filled. I'm thinking of going, maybe up on Sat early and back sunday afternoon. How long of a drive from LAX is it? I'd probably camp and go on the cheap. Are those of you going attending the keynote/dinner Sat. night? Matt

I'm not going to the dinner... I just did the basic entry fee. Wasn't interested in paying the extra $25 just for a dinner and a speaker lol... As for entry. If I read correctly you have to be pre-registered to get into the event. So, if you are planning on going you had best enter very soon!.
