How does this whole thing work Brad? I know you said shippings included in the price but, are they delivered to us (in la crosse)? Or do they come to you and then we meet you? A little more info would help...

DJ... Alot of people have told me NO to your question! On the other hand, quite a few have told me that I could maintain a smaller one in my nano (76W's of PC in a 24gal Tank). They even said it could sit in my sand bed (furthest away from the light). If I did I would have it as close to the light as I can get it though! Im thinking about trying to house one in my tank. Im sure Ill get yelled at for saying this but lol who cares.

Please don't try a clam under pc's especially a crocea. I had my maxxima clam under T5's at the surface and it did fine, but I would not try them on pc. Check out Wiskey's clam thread, it has some great info for beginners. http://www.thereeftank.com/forums/f92/clam-faq-84096.html
" Crocea and Maxima are the highest light demanding of all the clams, they require very high intensity light, a correctly setup MH or T5 HO with the good reflectors and allot of bulbs, basically if you can’t keep the most light demanding SPS corals, you can’t keep these clams.
- The other types of clams, Squamosa, Derasa, and Gigas can get by with lower levels of light, very intense PC light that is properly setup will get them by, but they would prefer more light than that. I think the rule of thumb here is if you can keep monitpora species (a less light SPS coral) then you can probably get by with one of these clams."
We have a responsibility to try and provide the best environment possible for the creatures we pull out of the sea. Test a frag of Monti from a club member, if you can make it grow then go ahead and try a squamosa or Derasa.

I agree. We have to be responsible in knowing you can at least meet the minimum needs first. Yes there is always an exception but those are rare....JMHO.
