Are there plans yet for an August meeting?
Are there plans yet for an August meeting, just wondering as School will start her in September and it may become a bit more difficult for everyone to get together again. Just a thought!

Probably wouldn't be a bad idea to have another before the end of summer. Although I'm not sure if much will have changed with everyones tanks in a months time. I'd be up for it. If I can get a chiller for my big tank quickly I might even be able to move my corals into my display tank and possibly host it. (all depending on a chiller right now though) Otherwise everything has to stay in my 70 gallon because I can regulate the temp on that with my fridge.

As of right now, Jason is the only member that has offered to host a meeting that has yet to be host. Does everyone want me to send out an e-mail to everyone to see what kind of interest there is for an August meeting and if there are anyone else that is willing to host?
BTW - Sorry about being so slow to respond to this thread. They are finally starting to build my house so I've been busy buying stuff so the contractor has everything when he needs it and I've also been busy selling off components from my 45 gal setup.

Jen and I talked it over and we can host it here this month yet or next whichever works for everyone. I'm not quite as concerned about the tank anymore as I know that I can control the temp now with the addition of the chiller (which was my biggest concern for a while). So, tell me when and I'll give you all directions. *It's pretty easy as I live right in town Sparta*

Too bad Sparta makes it even farther away. I would love to make it to a LARK meeting, maybe next time it is in La Crosse.

Well, I don't have to host it... It's really if no one else wants it. I'm just saying that since no one from the club has seen my setup I would offer it up.

I am sorry Jason, I did not intend to imply anything bad about your hosting. I think it is great for people to see others tanks. Meeting LARK is a long term plan, no hurry

No, I didn't take any offense to it. I was just saying whoever wants to host it can do so. I'll do it whenever you guys want me too lol. I was just saying that I talked it over with the mrs. and she gave me the o.k. to go on it if everyone wants to have it here.
If it is held at my place I have a stowaway on my blastomussa's that I would like a confirmation i.d. on... I think I may have been fortunate and got 2 Green Micromussa's to come with the larger 8 Red blasto's =). I may have a few Q's about fragging some of the stuff in my tank as well (I'm curious about where and when a person can cut off a portion of that green leather I got from you at the last meeting Brian. I like it so much I wouldn't mind having another piece on the other side of my tank.)

Jason - I can't remember if the frag I gave you was mounted or not. I'd feel comforable fragging the leather anytime after the original frag is attached. As far as hosting, I think it would be great if you could host. Either setup a poll here on TRT or let me know what weekend and times work the best for you and I can set the poll up so we can vote on the meeting date.
Michael - It looks like the next 3+ meetings after this one shoud be either in (or very near) La Crosse, or in Caledonia, MN. I can keep you and the rest of the Rochester reefers informed if you would like.

Brian, I don't think any of the frags you brought me were mounted (trying to think back that far) but, I glued it to a piece of LR since the meeting if it wasn't. The only frag I'm finding does not want to take to the rock is the devils finger (which I've had to glue 3 times now) but, I think I finally have it attached. As far as fragging the green leather goes do I just cut one of the shoots off at the main stem or where should I be cutting from?

Cut it whereever you want. Just remember though that the smaller the frag, the tougher it is to get them mounted because they shrink down initially.

For softies I have used a plastic tooth pic stuck through the base and then rubber band to hold it to the rock. I don't think glueing softies really works that well. Otherwise I think that you can use netting as well to just hold it to the rock.
