acrylic buffing?

I've got an acrylic tank for grow-out, but would like to polish the front pane before filling it (lots of smaller scratches) I've not polished acrylic before, and would love tips from anyone who has. Any local stores with buffing pads, sandpaper etc that you suggest? I do have a "buffer" for car wax, along with a palm sander, but don't know what is best to use.

...maybe I should just buy a cheap, new glass tank from Josh and be done with it...

I got one of those petco tanks from Mike that was pretty scratched up, I got the Novus kit off ebay and that worked increadible. There's a heavy scratch remover, then a fine scratch remover then a polish. After doing the steps I couldnt barely see any. Little time consuming by hand but if you have a buffer I bet you could do it a lot faster.

I have buffed several scratches out of cars not much plastic gotta be carful not to melt it i do have several buffing compounds i sell to car dealers i would be willing to give it a try u could wet sand the scratches with 3000 grit if there deep then buffer out probably at a low speed dj has buffed alot to he might have some idea of what to do i guess it not like your gonna go through the clear coat like a car wool cuts better foam will shine it up at the end ill talk to my boss and check on buffing acrlic
