90 Gallon build
Clam is still looking good! The Lord of the Rings Zoa's I got from jumpman did not make it Otherwise everything else is good. I added a Midas Blenny yesterday to replace King Lurkey the Combtooth blenny. King Midas has settled right into Lurkey's favorite hole and darts out into the column periodically to feed.
I had to tear apart the entire tank because I had added back that lunar wrasse and even as I was doing that my inside voice was saying, "wtf are you doing" well I decided to get him out before he caused havok and in order to do that I had to take all the live rock out.... grrr. However, doing that I found all the missing frags except for maybe one small zoa frag! So I am happy I did that, Not sure if I like the new aquascape though. I will post some pics tonight and you can let me know what you think. The wrasse is in fish jail in my sump downstairs til I figure out what I am going to do with him.

I was going to say that you just couldn't leave well enough alone could you? lol. When I was over the other day I thought the aquascape looked very appealing not to meantion the fact that you actually had room for other frags. Glad you found a few things that you were missing though. Yes, anytime you move anything you need to remove everything unless you want to be digging for stuff later. Sorry to hear about the LOTR frag but, at least it was only one thing. A very small loss for the sized move you made.
I will take a pic of the skimmate my skimmer is making right now after I decided to clean my sandbed a bit... It is very very thick crap (and I'm skimming wet and it's still really really dark!) I'm glad that I stirred the sandbed up a bit though... I only did the 70 gallon as that's all I'm going to do due to the fact that I do not have a very good clean-up crew in that tank. Nor do I have really anything to stir up the sandbed until recent when I bought that Yellow spot Wrasse which darts in and out of the sand all the time.
Anyhow, I'll get that pic for you later Josh,
and I'll say that I'm glad the Lunar Wrasse didn't work in the tank... It's such a nice CALM tank w/out him it'd be a shame to see you ruin it with the addition of just one fish.

Sorry all, I ended up going to my favorite watering holes last night to argue about the debates with my buddy from the opposite side of the political spectrum. Pics tonight I promise!! I am redoing my webiste right now so as soon as I get that done I will upload new pics to it and then post them here.
Jason, I had actually already redone the aquascaping when you stopped by on Saturday, so that is what I have now, glad you like it!! I was hoping for more open sand but I guess I just need a bigger tank.......
shoot me before my wife does...

See, I think that looks great Josh. I'm not really sure what you don't like about it! Get a few of those Magnets that I was selling a while back and start mounting frags to the overflow to hide it that way. I attached my devil's finger (unintentionally mind you) to the left side overflow and now you don't really even know it's there (seeing the leather is getting huge now).

Thanks Jason, I wanted more of an Isl on the left side of the tank sloping down a sandbed open on the right hand side to put LPS and clams on. Problem is I have too many small rocks with frags on them so it was hard to place them. I may tear it apart again, but for now I am going to see if it grows on me.

Well good news the Gen x pcx 55 pump for the skimmer is now working. I tore it apart, totally cleaned it out, put it together just enough so I could see the magnet spin, scraped some more put it all together and now it is working! Now if I could just get the skimmer dialed in, I am having problems getting dirty skimmate, skimming way to wet.

Who knows Josh... After tearing your tank apart... Maybe you really don't have a whole lot left to skim out at this point. Remember with all the LR you have you are cleaning a lot of the tank to start with. I haven't been getting much out of my skimmer as of late either. But, I've been testing (to verify that the skimmer is still doing it's job) and I've been finding 0's across the board.
I would see if the beckett is staying free of debris (I was having to clean it constantly before I made up the netting) as even the smallest piece of debris will DRASTICALLY affect the skimming ability. Also, I don't know if you ever got around to putting the skimmer in a tote or anything like I suggested but w/out being able to keep the water at the same exact height at all times you will never be able to keep control of the skimmate. Nor will you be able to finish dialing it in. Because, just when you think you have it dialed in you'll have to add water to the tank and you'll overflow the collection cup. (that's the reason I do have it in the tote just to keep it level at all times).

well I am getting good foam production but it is very clear so far. I need to buy a new test for nitrates I think. I get super high say 80-100 with one test, and then 10 with a different one. I am not sure which to believe. I hope to get a tote tomorrow, then one I tried yesterday did not fit.
