I'll be headed to OTP Monday for 2 bags of sand to put on top of the play sand- control the dust storm. Then I'll be ready to add water. I do have about 30gal in it now just to let the sand settle out a bit first. I will be ordering Macro base rock this week too. Fed ex to deliver the light Monday. Looks to be about ready!!!

Wow Kristie, this sounds awesome! Do you have a picture/diagram of the light setup? I like the idea of being able to move the fixture out of the way, but I'm not sure I understand how you did it. Looking good!!

When I get the light mounted I will post a good pic for you. When I saw it I thought it was an awesome idea. A 5 foot light is a lot for me to move on and off by myself so this makes everything so much easier. I left a bit more room between the tank and the wall so I'd have room for the light to slide back.

WOO HOO!!!

On a side note, how annoying is it that the middle LED's are blocked by the center brace?

I was just thinking the same thing. I'm cloudy so it's hard to tell how bad it is yet. I do have to say the blue LED's are awesome. The color is way more than I had expected. When I got the light yesterday, the T5's were broken. Currant filed the claim with Fedex and sent new ones out. Everything else looks to be brand new. The only thing I can see is there is a tiny dent in one reflector. Wonder if it's considered a second for the dent...
I'm just glad everything worked perfect on the first try. Took a bit to get the overflow and the return to jive right. Not a drop of water to be seen. I'm gonna say it was a success. I did a water change on the 26 and put that in the new tank too. Will be putting the 55lbs LS from the 26 in the big tank too so my bio will cycle faster. I also have LR in the sump from CVC's sump. Can't think of anything else to kick this bad boy off!! Kind of like hurry up and wait, ugh.

With the two LED sets on the other sides and the splash over in the middle you cant REALLY tell unless youre us and looking for it. Good light though, you'll love it. Kinda glad I went and picked mine up from fosters now, bulbs arriving broken and all. Good thing they're willing to send new ones though. Current has always been good to me in that regard.

I did some research and spoke with a few seasoned people and did something...Moved everything in! The fact that I was putting all my 55lbs LS from the 26, kept the water from changes from the 26 and LR from CVC's sump would likely keep me from having a huge cycle, if any. From the small volume to the 120 and my bio base, just need to watch my water param's. If nitrite or nitrate looks to be crazy high, water change. I was a bit nervous but to be honest, most of the corals look better after the move. WHEW!!!

I'd think there wouldn't be a big cycle for the reasons you mentioned. There is quite a lot of beneficial bacteria in your existing water, and keeping that certainly reduces the likelihood of a big cycle, plus your previous sandbed probably didn't have too much detritus stored up in it, as it was pretty new, but still would have a great start on the denitrifying bacteria necessary.
Glad you got things moved over...now just the wait and measure game. Hope you are enjoying the new lighting system! Can't wait for pictures.

It's tank day for me. Little rearrangement and a top off. My bulbs will be here today, hoping they are not smashed again. I will post pics later this afternoon...
