Looks to be the Outer Orbit. The NEP goes from 48" to 72". No 5 footer. I guess the T5/Halide combo will be my choice...

Good choice. You could get away with the 150's too. Kinda weird I was just checking that out it looks like they're no longer offering a 48" with 2x250's....? Guess I got mine at the right time!

Your a lot of help, LOL!! I think the 150's will be plenty, and still have a choice in what I can put in the tank now. My issue with the retro is the fact that the tank takes up the entire wall. I think the retro would be overkill for where it is. I do like the shimmer from the halide too. I will be ordering from "currentusa" at Ebay. They sell tons of lights, have a 100% feedback rating and have the best prices. 60" Outer Orbit starts at $319. If they don't have it listed when I'm ready to order, I'm going to ask them to make a sale just for me. (I've done this with other sellers and as a seller have done this too.) Unless OTP Matt can get close with the price...

It would appear you're ordering right from the manufacture....my only concern is did you notice you're buying refurbished items?
"We only refurbish units that appear to be less than 1 year old. Class B units are typically returned for a problem, such as a bad ballast, bad fan, etc. (within warranty) that we repair. All components are tested thoroughly like the Class A units and the unit receives new lamps. There may be some scratches and small dents with both classes, but they will not affect the operation of the unit or make the unit look unappealing."

Yay! Another Outer Orbit person. I was drooling over this fixture when I saw it go up for sale on another board, only 3 months old. LOVE IT!!!
Yep, I did reefs for YEARS before finally admitting that I like some fuzzy sticks, too. I only have softies right now, but now that I have halides (the shimmer kicks butt!) I'm sure the sticks will start arriving soon. LOL
Congrats on the upgrade. I've always liked those tank dimensions. Enjoy!

Either a 4 bulb with individual reflectors or a 6 bulb with a shared reflector.

My tank is definately a "stick farm" but, if you have them high enough in the tank you can grow them under T-5 lighting just as well as you can under MH (sometimes better un T-5 which is what I'm starting to find from growing stuff in my 70 which is a 6 x 39watt fixture)
my $0.02

The Outer Orbit be mine!! Got it for the beginning list price of $319. Shipping sux but for a $850.00 light, I won't complain. ($69.99).
Does Home Depot still carry the play sand in bags? I am moving all I have from the 26 for seeding but want to skip some of the cost of live sand.

I figure that he would have some dry sand left... If I remember correctly he bought all of Scott's extra sand that he got with that 180 gallon tank that he bought earlier this year.
As far as HD having sand that is reef safe I do not believe what they carry is... I believe it has silicates in it. Could be wrong though as it would not be the first time.

Picked up the 120gal today. It is now sanded and mostly painted. Decided to go with semi gloss black. The tank was Oak finish but is now black too. Tomorrow is light sanding and another coat...

Awesome Kristi (sp), can't wait to follow your build. It was good to meet you up at Fosters. Sorry you couldn't stay longer, but it probably helped your pocketbook that you didn't stick around. I know mine is MUCH lighter now!
