Great news !
A friend of mine whom I gave a 110 Gal tank a few years back is giving it back to me ! So my 75g tank build is now going to be a 110 build.
The funny thing is .... my wife made me get rid of the tank because it sprang a leak. My friend took the tank apart and re-sealed it. It hasn't leaked since. Now his wife wants him to get rid of it cuz it sits in the middle of her future den. He never got around to building it into the wall and she has been taking care of it and cleaning it ... she wants it gone. I will give him my 75 Gal tank with stand and matching light cover as a trade. WOOO HOOO !!!
I have just purchased a set of Diamond bit hole saws so that I can drill the tank. I should be doing this in the next 3 weeks. I can't wait! Wish me luck.

Uuuuuugggghhhhhhh !!!
Bad news! Somehow I did not measure correctly and found out the 110 is 72" long. I only have 60" till I run into the sewer pipe that comes down from upstairs. Guess I have to use the 75 Gal tank .... geez!
I can't believe this!

Cripes, thats the pits!! What options do you have? I don't imagine moving the sewer drain is your first choice.

Ya, can't really move it ... I thought for a bit I could lower the tank on the wall but I kind of wanted it to have a picture frame feel, besides I have a long "L" couch against that wall and it would end up behind the couch. Can't move the couch cuz of the way the room is oriented. I'm just stuck !

I was wondering how a 110 would fit in there, lol.
I would also look into some new bulbs 12-14k, 6500k is for freshwater plants, fuges, and indoor "hoticulture."

What about using a AGA 120, It's only 48" and would fit perfect beter then the 75. The 120 dimentions are 48x24x24
Just a thought

Aga 120
Well to be honest the biggest deal was that the 110 was going to be "free" and I am trying to do this build on a budget. I guess I will have to use what I already have.
Since I will have extra rock I will setup my old 29 Gal bowfront with the extra rock I have been cooking. Here are some pics of me setting that up with extra stuff I have laying around.
Here is a pic of the stand and tank after I spray painted the old salt stained stand black. I also painted the bottom and back of the tank as well.

SeaClone Skimmer
I am sure some of you noticed that I have the dreaded "Sea Scum" skimmer. Gimmie a break I didn't know it was a "piece" when I bought it. I have since moded it and cut down the inner tube in the collection cup. Since I have done this it works quite a bit better. Well comparably anyway ...
Here is a pic of it at work on the 29 Gal Bow.
I still haven't tried the other mods I have read about on this forum but this one has made a big difference. I hope the others will make this a marginal skimmer for this small tank.

I second the recommendation on the lights, if you arent running actinics, then I'd go with 14k or so, 6.5k halides will look yellow. So how does the 29g fit into all this, is it just holding the cooked LR?
