Finishing up the last bit of sanding on the inside with some much appriciated help from my bro

First batch of DIY live rock starting its fresh water cure

Here is a picture of the stand, it's a little plain to me and the doors are small it makes it difficult to do any maintance to the sump and skimmer so I will ether try to enlarge the doors and spice up the stand a bit or build a new one. I have to make up my mind here in the next week or two.

DIY LR? Are you saying you actually made the rock? I see the pics but I can't tell what's going on. What are you making it out of?

Blaize - the photos in post # 6 and #10 only show up as a red x, but the others display just fine. Wassup with that? (nooo..I'm not on my Mac at home, on a PC at work)

Yes I made the L/R out of cement and oyster shell, it makes for a very pourous rock and you can shape them any way you want which is really cool. Here is the link at About.com I used to make it. The first part of the page just explains what live rock is different examples of DIY L/R and the importance of the curing prosses. The recipe is about in the middle of the page I think.

Thanks for the welcome cath as far as the pictures of the tank and rock lifts I think I deleted them by accident I will try to get them back up after work today.
