New Tank Build
I have had a great year in this hobby and TRT was a lot of help. The past couple of days have been kinda sad because I am moving with 2 weeks of time between houses and I had to shut down the tank.
Now I am planning the new build. I am starting with my sump room and will work my way to the show tank. The builder is allowing me to do some work before I move in so Yesterday I framed up my 10'x11' sump room. I am going to take pictures and document thsi build because it should be fun.

I am thinking a 210 display tank and a 300 - 400 gal sump.

Today jack hammered a hole in the floor and dug out the dirt where I will place the sump pump and a floor drain. I also got things preped to pour an aditional 4" of concrete on the floor to taper everything into the floor drain.

Attached is a quick sketch of the sump design and a brief description of each labeled section.
Section A – An RO water tank 8x24x12. This will be my top-off water
Section B – Bubble Trap 43” tall (Placement is not critical)
Section C – Bubble Trap 43” tall (Placement is not critical)
Section D – Tank Divider 43” tall. The section to the right of this partition will be used for water changes.

Today, I plumbed the drain for my sump room and got the cold water ran. Tomorrow I will test the drain plumbing, install the hotwater line, fill the HUGE hole I put in my slab back to its original level, and clean up. This weekend I am going to raise the level of the floor 4" and taper everything down to the floor drain.

I have poured the new slab in my sump room and things look great. Now I am going to be laying out where everything will go and put plumbing in the wall.
What are everyone thoughts, put a lot of plumbing in the wall or run the pipe on the outside of the wall?

Im not sure i understand you question.
By outside of the wall do you mean only visible in your sump room??
If they are not in your way by doing so that would be fine and easier to plumb.
I am SO jealous of the concept of a "sump room"

Yeah, when i say the outside i mean, only visible in the room. Example, the lines for the tank will be "in the wall" you will not see them except where the enter and run to the main display tank. Lines from my Calcium reactor, top off... could be in the wall (and covered with sheetrock) , with a lot of planning, or fastened to the outside of the sheetrock...
The sump room is really going to be awesome. Actually, I get excited being in there now, I can imgine how awesome it will be when it is done.

Do you guys think there needs to be a vent to let out the humidity in the room? in my last sump room i did not have one because it was not sheetrocked and it was open to the rest of the basement. This one will be 10'x11' enclosed and sealed pretty tight. I dont want to have wet walls and a mildew lab.
