I am almost certain you will want at least a vent, and probly a fan as well. Maybe think about your paint finishes etc as well - could be as humid as a bathroom.

For ventilation I was thinking about putting an HVAC return close to where I will set the chiller and then a vent in there as well. Do you think that will work?
Also, Do you think I should put plumbing behind the sheet rock or along the wall in front of it?

If you plan on cooling your tank using evaporation, you will need lots of ventilation. If you plan on using a chiller, your furnace vent idea should be fine. Also, if your sump room location allows it, see if you can plumb your chiller to sit outside. A chiller in the sump room will overheat it if not ventilated very well.

I am thinking about putting a large Fartfan with a humidity sensor in the ceiling, dumping a HVAC supply and return into the room. I like the idea of putting the chiller outside, but I dont think my chiller is made to be waterproof and I dont want to see it outside.
Jon, come by and see the room. I could use another set of eyes to look at it for fresh ideas.

look for a circular blower from a hydroponics store instead of the "fart fan",it will be worth it.

Fish Freak, How would that install and can it be Humidity and/or heat controlled? Also, would I need a vent to let air in too?

it install the same, comes with brackets. Im sure you could hook it up to a controler but thats more advanced than I know. As far as venting it for air comming in we used to just run it backwards in the winter, but this might not work for this aplication due to the humidity in Ga.
Here is a link to one similar to the one we had http://cgi.ebay.com/6-Can-Fan-INLINE...QQcmdZViewItem

Well, I think it is time to start working on my tank. I have been VERY busy with the move and have been trying to get caught up at work because of how crazy my life has been. Now I am ready to start moving forward. I am running HVAC this week. I need to have new run electrical service to my home because I have so many freakn lights in my home there is no room in the panel. I would run a new Panel, but that was already done for the Apartment i put above the garage.
My sump is almost built and I will begin to run the plumbing and elec for my room this week. I have a goal of getting the Sump Room sheetrocked by the first week in April.
I am going to post pick of the sump room and my new stand this week. Also, I hope to get my tank this week.

i am not going to have everything done by the first week in April. I think I will get my monster sump this week. So far I have framed it in, jack hammered out part of the slab to put in a floor drain and sump pump, raised the slab and ran water for my RODI and a sink.
Here are a few photos of the room before I really get going.
Here is the room, it is about an 11' x 11' the far back right coner is the water lines for the sink and the sump pump.

This is a close-up of the Sump and water line for the sink. I have some insulation in the drain hole to keep a lot of dirt out of it durring construction.

And finally the floor drain,
RODI supply
and a shot of the raised slab. It is raised 4" and then I laid 1" flooring down. I am going to frame in a exterior sealed door to keep humidity from entering the other room. When everything in the other room is done, no one will know that sump room is back there because there will be a secret that covers the exterior door that leads into the room.

Very nice!! Floor drains and everything, wow! Whenever I do get a house I would love to do something like this.
Great work! Thanks for documenting it for us.
