I've had bad luck running pumps totally hard plumbed,.. if you look at my build thread (link in my sig) at how I have my quiet one setup you see that it goes from 1/2 thread, to nipple, about 1/2 foot of rubber hose, then into a nipple to 1/2 thread, and into the PVC that runns 5 feet away from the tank for the RDSB. When I hard plumb them it seems to amplify noise.
Also is it sitting on anything? Or just on the glass bottom of the sump? I've also had bad luck with that, and always make sure I sit my pumps on suckshin cups or something to isolate them from the sump bottom.

Whiskey

Ok,.. that will isolate it from the sump nicely. Have you tried taking it apart and making sure everything is put together properly in there? No broken inpeller shafts or anthing?

Riddle me this, Matt. Your stand looks amazing, and I'm inclined to believe it's home-grown. I'm currently in the design phase of my own stand, and I assume I'm over-engineering the support structure of the stand (2x4's and 2x6's for a 150 gallon tank). If you did indeed build that stand (or know how it was constructed), can you desribe a little of
a) how the loading of the tank is supported (appears to be plywood),
b) what was used to finish the stand, and
c) how it was leveled once in it's final resting position.
Thanks!!
Chris
