two days after the flatworm treatment, and the cerith snails are still knocked out. however, i can make them move (shoot back into their shells) by shining a bright flashlight on them.

on the bright side, i saw two amphipods yesterday evening, so i now have both copepods and amphipods in my tank, yay!

the fragment of bleached and what i thought was dead mushroom that i had put aside in some rubble has attached to a piece of rock. it still looks pretty horrible though.

i fed the brain a nice big piece of krill last night. and this morning, it still looked very fat and stuffed just like me after a good meal ... haha.

his mouth is stil sticking out, looks like he needs a bit more time to digest that one.

sorry for the horrendous picture quality, but this was taken with lights off, no flash, and iso 400 ;(

edit #1 : added the next picture, a little while after the actinics and blue lights came on, and it started to inflate.

it's been a while since i updated this thread.

a few things have happened.

- diamond goby jumped out, and was found crispy on the carpet.

- replaced diamond goby and LMB with new ones (slightly bigger this time)

- added blue assessor

- one of the two percula clowns hasn't been eating properly, and started to look rather depressed. went on vacation for a week, and got a call from a friend who's tank sittingthat he couln't find it anymore. sad as it it, i was not supprized, and was expecting this fish to die sooner rater than later.
it will be replaced though

- some hair algae is starting to grow (in high flow areas)

- noticed some bubble algae starting to grow on one particular rock.

- LMB is eating algae, but doesn't seem to touch certain rocks.

- diamond goby tried jumping out again! but had a witness (my dad) who's visiting and put him back in the tank.

- put eggcrate over the openings to prevent jumers. so far, all corals still look good, so they must still be getting enough light.

- added a few more inverts to the tank; about 30 or so micro blue leg hermits, two more tiny emerals crabs, and a small skunk cleaner shrimp.

- need to add another percula clown to keep the lone surviving one company.

- want to add a Tang to the tank. most likely a Tomini.

the new clown seemed to have gotten a bad case of tail/fin rot.
drsfostersmith suggested to treat it with Melafix.

fed all the fish and corals pretty well, they all had big fat tummies, then i put melafix in the tank (this was yesterday evening)

HOLY MOLY! did that make my skimmer go ballistic! i needed to turn it almost all the way down in order not to skim my tank empty.

micro bubbles all over the tank now.

nothing seems to be affected by it, other than that my blastos deflated just a little, the acro retracted all its polyps.

but after one or two hours everything looked normal again.

Good luck with the treatment. I'm a little scared of adding fish to my tank right now... I think I'll probably QT just to be safe, but i'm definitely not in the habit of doing so. I also really like the tomini tang, I hope you have succes with it! I've always enjoyed them, but my wife wants a kole, so I figure it's probably best not to have both (and she needs to get her way with the tank every now and again).

And great pictures! Very crisp...

well, it's time for another update i guess, it's been way too long now.

a few things have happened;

- the little percula clown is alive and kicking. the treatment worked out great. he's looking as good as new.

- my dad got me a royal gramma. cool little fish!

- my LMB starved to death. not enough hair algae i guess.

- while re-arranging a few rocks, my birdsnest fell into the frogspawn! DOH!
frogspawn lost, and one branch with two heads died. the birdsnest didn't seem to care.

- i seem to have a little bubble algae problem now

- got myself two tiny emerald crabs last weekend, as i haven't seem the other one in ages. hopefully, they will devellop an appetite for bubble algae.

- and today, i finally decided to add to the stocking list with new specimens.
two rocks with some palythoa polyps. and my new favorite little fish, it's the smallest guy in the tank, but oh my, he's a blast to watch when you feed fast as lightning! a barnacle blenny.

and here's the pics ...
the polyps haven't opened up completely, but it's a start

it must be that unwritten law that most expensive wysiwyg coral will loose against the cheap frag

not too much harm done, the other branch is still alive, and it looks that in an effort to "save the species" a few patches of tissue on the dying branch started to form a few little miniature frogspawn, i'll keep an eye on those to see if they'll make it.
