Johnson's 120 Reef

I will be adding pics and the complete story. The tank has been up for 1 week now. The ammonia level is just coming down and the nitrite is up and should be on its way back down any day now. I will post the pics of the build and list everything used to date in the next 48hrs. In the mean time here is a pic of the tank when it was about 72 hours old.

Here is some pics the lr curing tank i built today. I am going to order anther 45lbs in ht enext couple of days and need to cure it. I will use the tank for a saltwater mixing tank after the rock cures. It is a 40 gal stock tank i glued some stand offs down to help hold up the eggcreate. I will put a 150 watt heater in there along with two ph one below the eggcreate and one above. each one at other end to help the water move all around the rock. I also have a old twintube strip light that i might use for 6-8 hrs of light aday.

Well sorry for the delay in posts. Its been a busy two weeks around here.
I have managed to get some work done on the tank though. On 2-6 i drove out to nezw0001 house and bought some fish from her. A flame angel, blue tang, cleaner shrimp and a pair of clowns. They are awesome looking fish and she sold them to me for a great deal. I also managed to get the autotop off and ca reactor in this last week end. I have a 20g nano that was going to be used as a qt but after i got water in it i just had to set it up. So now its home to the picasso clowns i ordered a couple weeks ago. I wiil now just setup a 20 long for qt. This coming weekend i can finsh the electrical. It would be nice to build some kind of box to house the balliests and all the controllers and crap in. I do have a dj power center but dont want to mount it under the tank and i cant mount it out in the open for my 3 year old would start turning off the switchs. Well i will leave you with some pics of the autotop off.

Montdj -

I can't tell from your pictures, but does your auto topoff go straight from the RO or is there a resevoir. I've been berated a little for going straight from my RO/DI, but I compensate for the risks of overflooding by using multiple float switches and solenoids, as well as utilizing my AC3 to only allow the water to run for 30 minutes an hour and throttling back the flow to 7 gallons per day via needle valves (two).

I just want to make sure you're protected in case the float switch breaks (which is especially easy to get it to fail in the on position while utilizing AC powered solenoids).

It goes straight into the sump. I am adding another switch up higher to turn the unit off if the first one fails and i am also going to put in a flood switch in the bottom of the stand just to be safe. I have been told that a ac3 pro should run it all. I will look into those in the next couple of weeks.
