There is a large piece of LR (about 10 lbs) that I have yet to put in the 40. Though it's covered in zoas, I don't really want to put it in the new tank. It has too much nasty gunk from the old set up, and I really don't think scrubbing would do the trick. It may need to be cooked, but the zoas wouldn't make it, I'm afraid.

I'm open to suggestions.

use the old tank set up outside and change the water in it every 2 weeks or so, let the rock cook with your old tank and just use natural sunlight to light it with those extra powerheads, the zoas do not need a ton of light, so you can keep a fan over it to keep it cool...

export algae and the water with 100% water changes using the water you remove from your new setup.

just a suggestion...

Well, this evening just for the heck of it, I had to reset my password to get to my photo gallery Of course, I should have posted a photo much earlier this month, but here it is.

And here's an out-of-focus royal blue shroom, also from Danielle and Andy.

notice how it is flanked by 1st class aiptasia, which jumped on to the rock after the rock met the water in my tank
