We decided last night that we want to tile under the tank, so I called a friend who does floors and he said he would do it for free all we have to do is get the supplies. Once the tank is built we will have a carpenter friend over to start working on the stand canopy, and he will also do it just for material . I am gonna vaccum the floor where the tank used to sit, and then snap a couple pics of the tile samples, and the empty spot where the tank will go

Help me pick which tile is best. The pic shows the carpet, and the color of the wall in the room, to help coordinate.

I actually have all the lighting from the old tank. 2x400 sunlight suppy magnetic, and 1x400 aro ballast, all xm 20k bulbs in luminarc reflectors. I have 2xIC660's, with 4 6 foot vho suppliments, but I am not sure if I will use both or not. I definitley like having the lighting on for 12-14 hours a day, so I will need some sort of supplimentation....

I think I like the gray marbled tile best (of course because it is the most expensive, lol)

hmm i like the second and third tiles. maybe dark with the lighters as the boarder?
Mary,
the idea i am using for my canopy.. i am having some stain glass made and i will have cut outs inthe canopy, o when the lights are on, the stain glass will light up... i am having two sea horses done facing each other ( mirror image) thinking of having a long piece done for the center. also have bookcases on each side too....
you can play and have a lot of fun with it all.

I think I may have the canopy customized down the road, I know a guy who does lazer wood designs, and I am thinking about doing a fish scene on the front, but I am going to be short on cash in the build, so no go for right now.
Tank is paid for
Rock is paid for
Skimmer is half paid for
Tiling is paid for
Stand and canopy should be covered as well
Only things left to buy are:
Plumming,
The other half of the skimmer (ouch)
return pump ($300)
I am sure there is stuff I am forgetting but I will find out later. After speaking with spazz, I do not think I am going to need the ozonizer, so that will help if I sell that, and hopefully I will make some tank fund cash at the frag swap this month.

This sounds amazing! I want pics
I started to learn to do stained glass several years back - a friend had a studio and was teaching me, just amazing! Mine looked like a preschooler next to hers, but it was fun to learn.
anywho, I like the darkest tile - nice and rich looking with a nice dark stain on the stand and the light carpet - that would be nice
