The guy who is the curator at the rainforrest (jeffie) is in our local club. I will hopefully be able to get him out there this week.

Ok, so I finally got the Naso out of the tank and to his new temporary home. So far I have pulled about 75lbs of rock out of the tank and into a rubbermaid. My husband built the stand for the holding tanks yesterday and we got it moved into place, so Tuesday will be spent cleaning out the holding tanks and getting them plummed, and then Wed will be when the actual transfer will start. I will probably do about a 50 gallon water change on the big tank on Wed and use the old water to partially fill the holding tanks, and then I will pull the rest of the water on Friday when all the livestock is moved. Which means I should, in a perfect world, have a picture of an empty tank for you all by the following week. Dirty, but empty. Then the fun will begin!

Progress, yay! Today I finally finished the plumming on the holding tanks, so off to the races I went!

Without further ado, here are some pics of the tank full, the holding tanks empty, and then the tank empty and the holding tanks full. I am exhausted.

I cant wait to see it in june or october for sure. Iwas there and know about the "fast set-up" of it that week. Sure you dont want to make the netire back wall of that room a tank?

ok, so went to the local walmart and bought some krylon black semigloss spray paint yesterday for the tank, and spoke with my supplier and it looks like the pukani dead rock should be in by late next week. Now all I have to do is get the tank off the stand, clean the inside and start cutting the overflow out. Piece of cake right?

if you use the laytex paint you will have an easier time removing it down the line

I heard that it has a tendancy to peel when you remove the tape. Any experience with that?

on a few smaller tanks i had sone that. once the paint was good and dry i did not have much of any problem. it did make it a lot easier to clean up/ remove down the line. but a razor blace and most paint does come up too.. guess whatever is cheaper or you have laying around.

thanks for the info Tim! I am not going to ever be moving this tank again, so I am not going to worry about it, plus like you said, the right tools and you can get just about anything off
