Well, FTS is gonna have to wait a week or so . I cut my hand pretty bad last night, and have lost use of my right hand for a bit. So hubby is going to have to take care of the tank (god have mercy on my fishies )

Booo, injuries! Sorry to hear about your hand, I've definitely been there before (only been to the hospital twice this year!). Good luck to the fish!!

Figured since I am bored I would put up a list of the fish currently in the tank
1) Blonde Naso
1) Sailfin
1) Niger Trigger
1) spotted hawkfish
1) temmenikki Fairy Wrasse
3) Lubbocks Fariy Wrasses
1) Blue chromis
2) Yellow Candy Hogfish
2) Osc. Clownfish
4) Lyretail Anthias
2) Magnificent Rabbifish
For a total of 19 fish
I am pretty much done stocking the tank at this point. Down the road I will likely add a Scotts Fairy Wrasse, and a Lineatus, and call it good.

sooo, I thought I lost one of the hogfish. It dissappeared two days after I got them. Yesterday I went to trim some of the cheato in the sump, and low and behold there is the hogfish, hanging out in the sump. He may be the luckiest fish ever! Not only did he survive the ride of his life, but he picked the right drain to go down. The other drain goes straight into the UV before the sump, which definitley would have toasted him. Now the only problem is that I have 100lbs of rubble rock, and 50lbs of regular rock in my sump for him to hide in, so I dont see him getting caught anytime soon. Any ideas?

You need to make that hogfish a shirt that says
"I went down the overflow express and lived....and all I got was this lame shirt!"
Glad to hear he lived!
Any chance of putting a removeable large mesh screen on the durso that feeds the UV?

In thoery that would work, but then it would need to be cleaned weekly so as to not get clogged, and I have to climb on top of the tank to get to the durso... so probably not all that feasable.

I have to do that sometimes... my clowns seem to enjoy the overflow almost as much as the display tank. It's not too much fun balancing with one foot on the ladder, one hand on the wall, and one hand fishing precariously in the overflow with a net.

yeah, that is the only downside to having a tank that is wider than my arms are long...
On a side note, we are having some issues with the electrical work we had done, so hopefully my husband remembers to call someone and see if we can get them out to trouble shoot. Stray voltage is not fun. I think I have probably taken a year off of my life by getting electrocuted too many times trying to figure out which pump is bad. I am now under the impression that we messed up the wiring somewhere on the outlets.

Hey Mary,
Just joined TRT not too long ago, but haven't posted yet! Since I got to see the finished product before this - it has been really cool to read your build thread. I have so much respect for all the work you and Dustin have put into this tank! It really looks great. Keep up the great work!
BTW - I'm Zibba from TCMAS.

its looknig good mary/dustin. goot to see the tank up and running with tones of fish and corals in there. i still say you need some sand to cover the bottom with. i really like the wood work that is being done to the tank. it highlights the tank well.
