reefermikes 2.5 gal minibow
just went and got my nano. its a 2.5 gallon minibow by aga. gonna use my old fuge light 2x9w pc for it(just fits) and a small powerhead. gonna paint the back black and use black sand, probably 3-4 pounds lr, a clownfish, and some softies. no sump, no skimmer, just frequent waterchanges. i have a small hob filter for carbon if needed. so total water volume would be 2 gallons if that(im guessing) although if necessary im thinking of using a 10gal tank as a sump, not decided yet
2.5 gallon goldfish mini bow kit 29.99
coralife 2x9w pc light- previously owned think i payed around 30.00 new
whisper 10 filter- previously owned think i payed around 10 for it

thanks casey, im a little worried about the light heating up the water if i run it right on top of the tank like it sits in the above pic. may bend some acrylic at work to raise it up an inch or two if needed. i dont want to run a fan because id like for as little water to evaporate as possible.

Sure just raise it up a little so air can flow through should help some.

Thanks,
No heat problems and the filter was a Red Sea Nano filter.

just got a 5lb bag of black sand and 1.5lbs lr gonna call it a dsb even though its only 2"deep, because the whole tank is only 9"tall. used about another 2 lbs lr out of my display tank for a total of 3-3.5 lbs. added some freshly mixed saltwater(just under 2 gallons) a little rearranging and heres what we got
