Hello all,
Over the years of doing The Talkingreef podcast, one request that kept popping up was the request to have a live call in show. Well we're going to give it a try..

Introducing Talkingreef Live (TRL)
Talkingreef Live will be a live show hosted by myself and Bobby (IReef_IKeeper) and with assitantce and support from Carmie (CarmieJo). It will take place every other Sunday night at 8:00 PM EST (frequency and time not in stone yet) along side the regular Talkingreef Chat. During this show Bobby (IReef_IKeeper) and I will will take your questions, or discuss your topics. You can present questions, or bring up ideas for discussion and we can talk about them and let the audience ring in with their thoughts on the topic. If successful we are planning to do special talk nights with various industry experts, giving you the chance to join us live and ask your question.

During the show, while listening you, will be in a chat room live with everyone. You can present your topics or questions, get added to the queue, join the show, or just hang out and chat with everyone while listening. The shows will be recorded and released as a Talkingreef Live Podcast. These shows will go out in the existing Podcast feed, so everyone will have the chance to listen to them.

There is only one catch. This project is launching on a trial basis. In order for this to be successful we need YOUR participation. Make sure you spread there word and rally all your friends. Without your participation, this show can not succeed.
During this trial period, the team will evaluate the show quality and listener participation to make sure its a valuable resource for everyone.

The first show will be held tomorrow night (9/23/07). This show will be VERY experimental, and may not even get released on the public podcast feed. The idea for this show is to give everyone an idea how the system will work, and let us get an idea how to properly run things.

The show will be hosted at www.talkshoe.com. Make sure you head over there to sign up for a free account. To participate, you can call in from a regular phone (long distance charges may apply), using a VOIP client like Skype or Gizmo Prject, or using the built in ShoePhone client that comes with Talkshoe (all free).

I will be there. I hope you don't get discouraged if not many people take part in this first show. There aren't many people on these sites on the weekends, so many people won't know the show is taking place. This sounds like a great idea, and I believe the participation will grow after the word gets out.

we are not looking for a huge turnout on the first couple of shows (because of the weekend), but really just enough to get us by. we are still working on getting all of the buttons down on the talkshoe chatroom as hosts, so the more the merrier, but the fewer the easier for right now.

glad to have you aboard my friend. maybe an elegance coral show will be in the near future ... i was thinking about that anyway.

Hello all,
As you may notice by now there has not been a release of TRL Episode 2.
During this show we ran into a few issues. First off there were some technical issues that were causing many of us to have to reconnect. This caused complication for many, including me, this would have also prevented/complicated getting a complete recording.

The second and larger issue was under participation, with the exception of the three hosts, there were only 2-4 other people that showed up all night, and only one of those people was ready to participate on the show. As i have mentioned before in order for Talkingreef Live to succeed we are going to need more participation. The team is going to work more this week to promote the next episode and to try and get more people involved.

Talkingreef Live Episode 2 has been re-scheduled for this coming Sunday, October 14 2007 at 8:00 PM EST. I will make sure a mailer goes out this time to all members, and we will need all members and participants to help out by spreading the word and rallying your buddies..

thanks bigdeeezy, the next show is tonight at 8pm. you will need the talkshoe software downloaded to join in and the cool part is ... you can use your cell phone to call in so you are not charged long distance rates as you would be from a land line.

another show is set for tomorrow night. we are currently getting about 20-40 people in the talkshoe chatroom and 2000-3000 downloads of the shows. these numbers are great for a show that is only a couple of months old !! we hop to see you guys tomorrow night at 8pm to join us.
